For a variety of reasons, some more legitimate than others, society has long defined prostitution as something shameful. It is going to be difficult to shake off that reputation. Even in parts of the world where views on prostition are more liberal (i.e Europe), there is still a major stigma associated with it. Basically, in Europe they see it as an evil that will never go away and therefore should be regulated rather than banned, not as something that is socially acceptable.Thinking about it. It makes sense in a way that women will shame them since it removes their only power over men. Once men know the price of pvssy most women will be afraid. Therefore they shame men from using them etc.
If a woman knows a guy has used them, she is in constant dread. Thinking if she withholds sex he can just buy sex.
The fact that many prostitutes and their clients fit traditional stereotypes (i.e. women being drug addicts or sex-trafficked slaves and johns being losers married to unattractive wives) certainly does not help things. In an idea world, visiting a prostitute would be no big deal and no different than getting a massage or a haircut. But I doubt that would ever happen.
