Apparently the "I'm not the only moderator that agreed to have the thread be 'no non-picture reply''' isn't hitting home, now is it?

I don't go around locking threads because I feel like. I don't delete threads because I feel like it. I have a job to do so I go do it.

Let me guess this...If you start a political thread and I lock it, I'll get yelled at for "denying people their right to their own taste, opinion, ideas, and visions," even though political threads are banned on here. Oh yeah, that's not my "Eternal-Thought" either, that is an "Allen-Thought." Just like the picture thread isn't an "Eternal-Thought," it's a "Moderator-Thought."

If you think me doing my job is abusing my privelages, then so be it. Do you think your boss at work giving you some work is abusing his privelages. What about a cop pulling you over for speeding?

I don't post political topics because they have never been allowed as long as I have been a member here. Posting comments on threads with photos WAS always allowed. And like you said earlier...the problem with the flaming was dealt with and isn't even an issue anymore. If it's not a problem and all you are doing is just making immediate deletions to avoid what used to be but is no longer a problem then maybe it's time to reconsider that policy. Better yet...maybe it was just time for a brand new thread and a fresh start.

It's STILL a problem. There are new flames (not just replies) to the picture thing nearly every week. They just get deleted quickly.

So make a "Time Out" forum and stick anyone who starts flaming in there by themself for 3 days. It's really easy to do. Put a copy of the Bible in there, read only. Not only could you toss flamers in there, but you could also toss the "Oh my God, she saw me look at her! What do I do?" posters in there too.

Okay, like I said in the other thread, I'm done for the night.

let me guess, if you were a mod, you'd have this place running prefectly with everybody happy, right? It doesn't work that way. Get over it.

Sorry, but considering the title of this thread, I found this quote rather ironic.

Wyld, I understand that you're upset due to your feelings that you have been unjustly punished or discriminated against. In complete impartiality, I'd like to just make a few comments regarding the way the forum has become lately. Though I am not a long-term member such as yourself, I've noticed that since my inception here, people have grown far more negative and spiteful - not as a whole, but there are no shortage of naysayers and others attempting to bring people down. I don't remember the thread you created over a year ago, but I'm guessing the forum was filled with an entirely different group of people. From the way that you've described things, these were uplifting and supportive members. From the responses in the "PICTURE ONLY" thread (back before it was 'picture ONLY'), this isn't the case at all. One poor little guy even had a copy of his face photoshopped onto a pigeon's body, which was then broadcast out all around the internet - people on bodybuilding.com even started a thread laughing at him. Now, admittedly, the guy did look like a pigeon, but that's not the issue here. The point is that there are some people on the forum that for whatever reason are not mature or kind enough to keep from making snide comments about people's looks. Hopefully you can understand this and make allowances for what you feel are some of our moderators more 'intolerant' attitudes.

Hope this helps.

Man, that was messed up. But I agree that there's been a lot of negativity going around here and I'm not talking about the stuff from the past couple of days either. I can understand protecting the board from things like that. When it's explained it makes more sense.

Two sides to every coin

I'm like one of the most permissive mods on this site. Eternal is like the strict father figure, and I'm the cool next-door neighbor that buys beer for the neighborhood kids.
I can totally understand that one, Gio, having done it myself a few times;)

As far as Eternal being the strict father figure, well he's coming into his own, no doubt, which is a good thing and something SoSuave.com will need in the future because these kids will always have an immaturity about them (due to lack of experience) and for Eternal to "regulate" so well on this forum is a good marker of maturity.

There's no First Amendment here. SoSuave is privately owned, so Allen and his staff can delete, lock, or keep whatever they want.

Of course you can appeal this, but coming on here and throwing a hissy and making threats makes you appear immature. You make a valid point. Don't cloud it by acting like an ass to get it across.

Your bible posts may have interesting information, but they aren't interesting enough to give you leverage in this argument even if you COULD delete them. Which you can't, because as Eternal pointed out, they are now property of SoSuave.

So settle down and wait for Allen to respond.

Some people take the Internet too seriously.

This is why I never let my girlfriend use my computer. Women have too many high opinions and too little brainpower.

In the high wisdom of ancient China, "Those possessed of big mouths have small brain".

First of all, I can't really understand why this is an issue. This forum was created to help men improve themselves to the point where they're attracting women. THAT is the point of this forum.

However, there's one little section on here set aside for anything that isn't directly related to self-improvement and getting women. It's called "Anything Else". This is about a topic that isn't even related to the purpose of this site. The information contained in the picture threads (Yes Wyldfire, I remember yours) isn't even relavent to the purpose of this site. I see no picture threads in the DJ bible, or even in the Archive. The picture threads sit in an area with topics such as "How many times a day do monkeys have sex" and "What type of socks do you wear?" I'm sure we don't need more than one thread on socks, especially if one is a sticky.

The real question here is, how did your socks get sticky in the first place.

Why not? It envolves real people. Real people who chose to join and converse in a forum and have their opinions judged and critiqued, and find out what happens when people stop being polite and start getting REAL. The Real World, SOSUAVE.COM! :p

1.) there was no reason to lock her thread. if you're gonna have just 1 photo thread, then why not have JUST 1 "does she like me?" or "problem with girl at work" afc thread?

2.) referring to a thread as your baby is a bit too much.

That's what we are trying to do, despite peoples complaints.

Okay...I'm going to try to put this in terms that you guys can understand.

To some people, it's very important that you keep your word. I try very hard to do that, and it's something I take a great deal of pride in. Keeping my word is EXTREMELY important to me. I promised someone that I would start another DJ Photo Challenge thread.

Time...most people put a decent amount of value on their time. No one really likes investing time in something only to have someone turn around and disrespect the time you've spent and piss all over it. I spent almost an hour of MY time making the page to start that thread that I gave MY WORD to someone that I was going to start. Eternal immediately pi$$ed all over my TIME and MY WORD by locking that thread.

Imagine that you promised to meet a girl at a certain place. You spend your TIME getting ready and going there, because you gave YOUR WORD. She doesn't show up and doesn't call. She pi$$ed all over your TIME and YOUR WORD. Eternal is like the girl that stands you up on a date in this situation.

Okay...so you see the girl awhile later and confront her about not showing up and she acts like she did nothing at all wrong since she has boobs and she didn't agree with the place you picked and decided to not go. Although you're angry with the girl, you just move on and try to talk to other people. But she chases you around and interrupts you everytime you attempt to talk to anyone else. How you would feel about this girl is exactly the way I'm seeing Eternal right about now.

As for the "my baby" comment...I'm somewhat sentimental about that old thread, what can I say? At the time that thread was going there were a great group of people on here. A lot of us used MSN Messenger and would have some great conversations and discussions as a group. Me, Tricky Nick, Drew, Cyclo, that crazy Paki who changed his name so much I can't remember it. Neanderthal Supersoldier, SirChancealot and a few others.

That thread actually created a sense of comraderie on this site that hadn't existed prior to that. Perhaps putting faces to the names made it a bit more personal and friendly. Whatever the case, it was very positive. That level of comraderie doesn't exist with this group of people from what I've seen. It's too bad.

Oh...and the debate about not allowing comments in the picture thread is ridiculous. Deleting all comments doesn't stop the arseholes from making insults to people...they just make them through PM instead. People who are going to be dinks are still going to be dinks...they just use other methods. Some poor insecure guy who posts his photo and gets cruel insults via PM is going to be far more broken than if it were in a post on the forum. He won't tell anyone what was said...he'll just get more insecure. At least if it's posted the other members can reassure him so he isn't going around thinking something some dumba$$ troll PM'ed him is true.

Locking my thread and banning comments on the other one is categorically WRONG, period.

You promised to start a thread. You started a thread. Your word has been kept.

Look at it from the other side. Eternal might actually have duties he's expected to perform as moderator. One of them could be getting rid of redundant threads. Most of the forum members are in favor of this. That's what he did.

Also, I'd rather have someone pm me with an insult rather than humiliate me publicly.
