Depends on the level of testosterone in the woman. Usually peaks near ovulation. Body knows an egg is ready and hormones make her want to fertilize it. Men on the other hand, supposedly have 16x times higher levels. This makes us horny at any given moment. I’d say women in relationships are more free to succumb to those urges since there is no social stigma associated with it. That stigma is less these days as we see young women racking up body counts. They probably seem more horny these days because this old social judgement has been removed.

As an experiment, observe the women in your social circle. You’ll start to notice the hormone changes. During ovulation you might notice more skin being shown or sexually suggestive speech. More provocative outfits and stronger flirting.

That’s a good reason ”timing” gets brought up in many conversations. Timing, as in she was ovulating and the elevated testosterone was making her crave some d!ck.

There are some exceptions to these rules.

Men have much higher desire for sex than women due to the presence of testosterone in our bodies. Our testosterone levels are 12-17 times higher than that of a woman. Even lower testosterone men are hornier than women.

Men might also appear less selective for sexual opportunity (as @GoodMan32 points out) because of the presence of testosterone.

Yes exactly. I dont know why this is still debatable. Trans women that transition to "men" have written about how intense their sex drive was after that first dose of hormonal (testosterone) treatment was. One said that she found herself just staring at womans butts on the subway and did not know why lol.

Older women on HRT ( hormonal replacement therapy) have said the same thing. One women on camera basically said she understands why men cheat. She said men are fighting a different battle.
