Took a break from lifting... ready to start again.

I find it highly unlikely that had anything to do with it, unless you have genetic cholesterol disorders. there's guys knocking back 2-3 dozen eggs a day and their cholesterol is in perfect order. the ingestion of dietary cholesterol should, if you are healthy, reduce your own levels or keep...

Took a break from lifting... ready to start again.

you THINK you have high cholesterol or you actually do? exercise, a high fibre diet, weight loss (if applicable), no refined carbs and low carbs in general, and at least a moderate fat intake will reduce your cholesterol. get some bloodwork if you think your cholesterol is high

Gain Muscle FAST: Here's how I do it

agreed. there's no issue with the guy's program or diet or his results (I have seen crazier results happen than what he's claiming), just the terminology he uses. to say he's a hardgainer is insulting true hardgainers :) lots of people mistake being hardgainers for just not eating or...

    FB`s Training Log

I agree, you're on the right track and much more consistent than most guys your age. Keep it up! I would do high rep squats instead of the horizontal leg press though. If you have only limited amounts of red meat I'd have it pre workout - beef before the workout will give you a more aggressive...

    JohnnyIrish's Diet/Workout Log

it's normal for your legs to be sore for a few days after high rep squats but you should be recovered in time for the next squat workout a week later. stretching and cardio will help as will a consistent diet. if your legs are still sore after a week then you got recovery issues we'll address...

    I have cancer

think of it this way: you did everything right from a nutritional sense, if you hadn't, maybe you wouldn't have been able to get through this as well as you have done. how many people with cancer can say they got over it in in less than 4 months and were back weightlifting soon after it...

Gain Muscle FAST: Here's how I do it

make your mind up. 17lbs in 4 weeks is pretty damn good genetics. a true hardgainer would have trouble putting on 17lbs in a year. :)

Does becoming muscular really help your game?

no-one on this thread has is ever going to get 'too big' so I don't see what you guys are worrying about. :D

    Hockey Playa Workout Journal

define 'have not responded to squats in the past'. if you want to make the leg press harder, pause each rep. (drop the weight though) and make sure your knees are nearly touching your armpits. your 5lb gain in less than 2 weeks is gonna be mostly water from the carbs you're eating. it's hard...

So guys the final say. which is better: big, or skinny and defined?

my point exactly - you gained 30lbs in 2 years (which is a great gain btw) but you're not at your ideal yet. I wasn't berating you or anyone for HAVING a target physique or whatever, I just take exception with people talking casually about goals or "I don't want to blow up" or "have a calvin...

    Supplements for gaining muscle

green and white tea is absurdly good for you and should ALWAYS be used as a staple of health. google for the benefits if you don't know them. a higher metabolic rate (5% increase with enough tea) = higher recovery times + more fat burned = quicker gains with less fat gain when massing =...

So guys the final say. which is better: big, or skinny and defined?

one thing is for sure - anyone who tells someone to "go for x physique" obviously has no idea how much hard work, consistency and TIME will go into achieving in a mildly conditioned physique a la the calvin klein model look unless your genetics are inclined that way and give you a headstart...

    Supplements for gaining muscle

your test levels are still pretty high in your 20s. but if you train even semi-regularly you'll be deficient in zinc and magnesium at any age - the 'testosterone boost' thing is a selling point of ZMA where there's a lot more to it than that (and it's not gonna boost your test levels any higher...

    I have cancer

it has nothing to do with your fitness or dietary regime mate.. not your fault. for it to happen to someone so young it's more genetics than anything else. it hasn't come as a result of you abusing your body for years and years. but what's important is that you've caught it early and it's...
