I know plenty of guys that act 100% more confident or themselves when around their friends vs the complete opposite when taken outside their circle. It is possible that this is a major factor in them getting a girl in a social circle. Just because you have a penis doesn't mean you social circle is going to serve you pvssy on a platter. The biggest flaw with Rodger was his extreme lack of self awareness. He legitimately expected that wearing designer clothes to college would make women just go up and start talking to him, for example. He refused to consider any other option than what his own misinformed mind told him. Truly he was a mental case in every sense of the word. I would say that reputation is critical in a social circle. Even if the guy has normie looks, he must have a dating history that is somehow known to the social circle.

For example, if he dates at least one of the chicks from the circle, that will generally give him a positive reputation. Or if it is known that he has had a recent gf from outside the circle, that’s good too.

But, if the circle knows that he’s been single/dateless from say a year or more, it’s over for him. The social circle knows he’s a ‘cel, and they will make fun of him behind his back and/or stop inviting him to events/parties.

TLDR: Even in a social circle, it has to be a guy who is already getting laid.
