Well from my perspective, I DO want my own pad--it is a goal. I want to live on my own. At the same time, I have felt bad about MYSELF for this
"stigma" and it has kept me back from going for chicks. At least I've let it do that. I am in a roomate situation, with my Dad. I don't like it. But I absolutely pay my way and support myself. Rents are expensive in my area, but it's something I'm working towards.

This is my own perception though. If the situation were reversed and it wasn't my dad but just another guy roomate, then I would be officially on my own, in the eyes of these women who's opinion I've been conditioned to care about.

But I don't want a roomate just so chicks will perceive me as having higher value than I "do", it's just time for me to live by MYSELF.

Don't know if I'm making much sense. But I've allowed this stigma to affect my own self-esteem. I can't worry anymore about how I'll be perceived by others. I'm a man working to better my life. The apartment comes when I can swing it I guess.

I know it's real, I know women may think about it. But if they do, FORGET EM.

Actually that pretty much sums it up. I seem to have these breakthroughs every once in a while on this board, think I'm having another now.

I have to say, I've paid for Match.com. Figured I'd try it out, see what good could come of it. No success AT ALL, even with good looks and good game(how surprising, eh? lol. You'd know what I'm talking about if you've been following my posts). I finally said f*ck it 2 weeks ago. Won't ever pay for another website geared to meeting the opposite sex again.

I mean I've gotten 3 numbers from 3 hotties on there, one was 21, one was 27, and the other 38. I called all of them, but never got a return call. I'll admit, the 38 yr old, I f*cked up my game with(hey, can't be perfect all the time), but the other 2 were on target. I tend to sometimes talk a little fast on answering machines, so that's probably what did me in with the 27 and 21 yr old. They probably thought I was nervous, when in fact I wasn't at all.

Well I only have 2 pics up and they aren't that great. I have a funny profile and I have pretty much mastered the C+F and have a great intro email I send out. And I email it to tons of women. I also keep record of who I have sent it to. Nothing more embarassing then sending the same thing to the same woman over and over.

Well, here is the thing…I don’t have to go to match.com and search for women with their own place to get laid. In another words, I have options. I have control over my environment too (which is a huge DJ principle).

Who do you think has more control over his environment? Who do you think has more options? Who do you think is a DJ?

Guy #1 is :

1- Has a solid career
2- Owns his home/condominium (at worst, has a rent with a lease in HIS name)
3- Is the DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY in his home



Guy #2 is:

2- Lives with his parents
3- His dad or mom is the DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY in his home


Men should strive for his independence. As eventually that man will get married and have children and that would reduce his independence considerably.

And that’s what a lot of men are missing by living with their parents. I don’t care what anyone say…but that’s your parents home. That’s you parent that will make the decision when it comes to the home. You are NOT the decision making authority. And that’s an important quality for ANY man.

You can say something like you're between places and just staying with your parents temporarily while hunting for a new apartment. And proceed to do exactly that.

Which translates to "I was kicked out of my last place and couldn't find another place to live nor any of my friends would take me in so I had to go back crawling to my mom and dad."

This typically works until the first of the month but if it goes on for longer than that it begins to look very lame. Most guys out on their own have found out that their bachelor bad doesnt have to be a low grade MTV-Cribs. Most women are impressed that you're out on your own, especially at a young age. Oh yeah, IKEA is your low-cost furnishing friend.

BTW, Comic Relief is still in school and was getting his own place. It can be done.

He's right though. Being independent increases your opportunities exponentially. Crappy or not, your life gets a hell of a lot easier when you're on your own. Yeah, you have to pay for your lifestyle yourself instead of relying on others but that's the cost of freedom.

That's exactly the point I am trying to make. I don't know how to sugar coat it any better. I have to be honest with my opinion.

I can say that I did hear a woman say that the reason she left her boyfriend was that this guy HAD NO DIRECTION IN LIFE. Though she was 16 and he was like 23, I think she saw him being just a bum. He didnt have his own car, made less that she did, didnt really know what type of degree in college he wanted, AND lived with his parents.

She told me.. I know you live at home, but at least you have direction in life, plan to move out, and are trying to start a business too, and you graduate this May too. You are STRIVING for something, and he is not.

Now I am not dating or banging this girl, but she had a point.

Too many guys make lame excuses. My situation is not the same as others, and I concentrate more on my business than women at the moment. If they fall in my lap, so be it. BUT... I am trying to get to a point i've worked at so hard to get too, and I am not about to stop now so I can make a woman happy cause I have my own pad. Eventually in time yes, great, as I have done it before. But at the moment I choose to do this.

Will it hinder me? Yes, but only in one area. Like I said, you make sacrifices and go from there. For me, its the whole... Hold off on the woman deal cause I have other stuff I need to concentrate on now that are MORE important for the time being.

The world isn't one to hand out things to us as we all know. It's life, and you deal with what you have.
