Why am I so crazy? The broad needs to see a shrink.
Who else is going to get her help? I don't want to see her completely destroy herself... I gave her a chance to get help let's see if she takes it.
I want to see if she does it, and sees the shrink to save our relationship. Maybe I am on a power trip or something.
No one has power when a mental illness is involved. You want to help her? OK, here's EXACTLY how(seriously):
I've heard Borderline Personality Disorder described as "third-degree burns of the heart and emotions". She'll need both a psychiatrist and psychologist and 3 or 4 years of trial and error to find the best meds that actually work. Also the meds will most likely produce diabetes, weight gain, and whole host of other side effects.
But wait, there's more, if you're really serious about getting this woman help and being with her, YOU need to
1) Become a member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
2) Attend a bunch of their meetings and classes
3) Learn exactly what you're dealing with and how to help her
If you want to stay with her, go full speed ahead with her, her psychiatrist and psychologist, the meds, and NAMI as a support group. It should only take up about 10 to 20 hours a week. Triple that amount of time if her mental illness gets her in trouble with the law.
Personally I think that
1) A guy can never save a woman, especially one with a mental illness
2) 99.9% of the time the woman doesn't want to be saved
3) When you try and "save a woman", she'll totally screw you over, worse than you could possibly imagine
But hey, good luck!
