What did I tell ya Pug?

You ask if she's single right off the bat and if she's not attracted to you then her wall of defense goes up big time!!!

There isn't a joke in the world that would make her laugh at that point because she knows EXACTLY what you are after. The reason she didn't laugh is because she felt you would get the wrong impression if she did! She doesn't want you to think she actually likes you at that point. No that would be leading you on. Giving you some hope.

She was treating you exactly the way she would treat someone she was trying to give the brush off too. Why? Because you allowed her to know your intentions before you even made a first impression. WRONG! During your second approach if you asked if those girls were single right from the get go they wouldn't have laughed at any of your jokes either. The question just kinda puts people on the defense.

Sorry if you feel like I caused you to embarrass yourself dude but you refused to follow the approach as I laid it out for you.

Your new opener is good glad you found something else.

By the way kudo's for picking yourself back up and getting right back in the game. Now that is the right attitude. Keep it up and you'll go far. Good work.

Day 10 Approaches 19+20+21

Slickster man, dude just let it be......It wasnt cause I asked her that question.......it was cause the fact I am a very dry humor person.....It's hard for me not to keep a straight face when I say something that I am joking about, thats just how my humor goes man.......and keeping a straight face isn't conducive for that type of thing......


and as for Ak89, Dude I may be ugly but what does it say that I can get more women than you?.....those looks of yours must be landing you the prom queen eh? What notch would you rather have on your belt, the best looking guy, or the guy that can have any woman he desires, me personally id rather have number 2.....looks only count if you can use them.....secondly don't come onto my thread and insult me or you wont be saying your face is soo pretty anymore......


Well guys I tried to find my niche and wording and I believe I have....... I tried Sabikus thing last night and I made a complete ass out of myself!!!!! Once again I kept a straight face when I should have been smiling....thats just how my humor works I felt like such an idiot after I did ......Here how I did it.....I was in borders and I saw a Cute Hb7.5 Phillipina chick and I walked around to where she was and I walked up to her:

Me: Hey how are you doing?
Her: Good and you?
Me: I'm doing awesome....hey you mind if I ask you a question?
Her: Sure
Me: Are you single?
Her: Yes I am....
Me: Are you rich? (said very matter of factly and im sure she took me serious)
Her: No....Why do you ask?
Me: Said very matter of factly with not hint of a smile or in my tone...."Because I have to have a woman who can support my lavish lifestyle"
Her: Ok.........
Me: My name is Chris
Her: Im Sella
(then my mind went completley blank and I couldn't think of what to say for like 30 secs) and then finally I said
Me: Well it was good meeting you have a nice day...


LOL man i felt like such an idiot, She prolly thought I was serious and Im sure I looked EXTREMELY weird and really freaked her out..... Imagine a girl asking you if you are rich....and then you ask why and she says in a very normal tone and face because she wants a guy who can support her lavish lifestyle....you would take her seriously and would be like WTF was all that about!!!.............she went quickly walking out the store 4 mins later.....lol she prolly thought I was some weirdo stalker...... and it made me feel like one...... I hate that sly stuff I can't pull it off......I get taken seriously.......


The next one was kind of a passing by deal I walked by a cute down home blonde Hb8 Chick and I said to her:

Me:Hey How are you?
She looks at me smiles and says shes doing good
Me: Hey didn't we go to different schools together?
Her: Pauses and thinks then says kinda scatterbrained "diff sch what?"
Me: Yeh didn't we go to different schools together? (and kept a straight face)
Her: Still thinking about it
Me: haha Im just messin with you !!!!!
Her: She starts busting out laughing and starts blushing a whole bunch...
Me: Your good, most people don't catch that the first time....
Her: Yeh I was kinda wondering, it sounded right, but then again it also sounded like it was said wrong (shes still laughing a whole bunch)
Me: Yeh that was good stuff.
Her: Still blushing a whole bunch and laughing and her friend on the floor got her laughing too.....and then I didn't push it any further and just said "I'm Chris BTW" they shook my hand and I said "Have a good night" and it got them talking they were talking about me after I left for like 3-4 mins after I left, think I made a good Impression!!??

The last one of the night I had just walked out of the bathroom and one of the Chicks that works at the store was walking towards me and I said "Hey how are you"

Her: Im doing good and yourself?
Me: Im doing awesome (she was now walking onto an aisle and I followed right behind her and then said
Me:"Hey didn't we go to different schools together"?
Her: Yeh I thought you looked familiar...
Me: So we did go to different schools together!!
Her: Oh, Hey wait a second!!! Hey, don't be playing around with me like that Ive been up since 6am (said playfully)
Me: Aww poor baby.....(said sarcastically)
Me: Why you been up so early? Exams?
Her: Yeh I was up all night studying for it...
Me: That was your last one wasn't it?
Her: Yeh thank god, and I also had to watch a bunch of kids all day before I came here....
Me: You go to UNCG?
Her: yeh

Anyways we talked for a good 10 mins and when I was ready to leave she wanted to keep talking and talking.....

So I finally said after talking to her for a while

Me: Im Chris BTW
Her: and she shook my hand and said her name was Rebecca
Me: Hey you mind if I ask you a question?
Her: Sure
Me: Are you single?
Her: Yessss I actually am
Me: Ok well why don't you give me you number and maybe we can go grab a cup of coffee sometime...
Her: Sure that would be good.....


So I got her number and geuss what she wanted to do .....KEEP TALKING (I think I made a good impression don't you?)!!!

I finally said I gotta run and told her maybe id call her sometime.....

We had a good convo together, I made her laugh alot.....she was a strawberry blonde HB7.5....


I like that line though gets them laughing immediatly and works everytime.....

Im prolly gonna make a call to the first chick tommorow since Im not feeling the best right now and running a fever and feel all achy, BUT Im still gonna go out and try to approach tonight and get some more numbers wish me luck!!!

The line "Are you single... and are you rich..." is David DeAngelo stuff and he recommends looking serious by saying this...

now that's the kinda $h!t i'm talkin' about, nice job. I've never been a fan of big elaborate (and usually fake) scripted lines such as the 'can you help me decide whether this book is good.' and stuff. I wouldn't feel right doing it, and I doesn't look like you do either...that's totally fine.

That opening line of 'didn't we go to different schools together?' is agreat ice breaker in my opinion. It applies to any situation, it gets the girls laughing...shows you are a fun(ny) guy. I've always loved little gimmicks like that...and what's important is that it's in your personality so it doesn't seem at all fake/scripted.

The 'Are you single?' line AFTER you have done small rapport is great. After you have shown you can have a good conversation by chatting with her for a bit, and you ask her whether she is available or not...it really cuts out the BS. I guarantee the chances if her not making up a fake boyfriend and giving out her number is much higher with this approach. I think you've found a happy medium between using your "Are you single?" line and getting a small rapport going. Keep up the good work...i'd stick with this one for a while it seems to be going well, and it fits your personality.

You da MAN. Not only do you have the ballz to attempt this stuff but you are succeeding and improving all the time.

We could all (at least most of us) learn a lot from Pugs as well as going on this type of mission ourselves. How many of us here will make a New Years Resolution to get better with women, start approaching, etc…. Why wait? Why not start now. I know I need to get myself in gear. I have done 4 approaches in the last 5 days and I have a lot more work to do. My problem has always been going for the close so between now and the end of the year I am going to continue knocking out some approaches but also get some # closes in. I, for one, am tired of letting this part of my life be controlled/intimidated by 5 foot 120 pound women. I encourage all of us reading Pugs’ journal to go after it like him and forge our own trail.

Cold approaches do work. Earlier this year I cold approached a 24 yr. old in line at a restaurant, got her #, and 10 days later her clothes were thrown all over my room as my headboard slammed against the wall. I ended up dating this chick for 6 months.

Again, Pugs you are doing great and thanks for sharing your wisdom and insight. You are successful just by taking ACTION.

Makes perfect sense. At work you have an excuse to talk to girls. You work with them! You realize that they feel the same and there is no awkwardness between you two. There really isn't a risk of "rejection" as there is with a stranger.

The hardest part of cold approaches is the lack of excuses to talk to the girl. This is the part you have to get over.

You're line "Didn't we go to different schools together?" is a great opener. It gets the girl laughing and you get to tease her at the same time. This humorous approach would let her feel comfortable letting her gaurd down around you and it shows you have balls. Definitely hang on to this opener.

Hey fellas, I just wanted to keep you updated on what was going on....last night I did go out, but I was running like 101 fever and had that whole achy chills **** going on not to mention I sounded like I was holding both of my nostrils closed when i talked....lol needless to say I went looking for convos to strike up but and I tried to muster up the strength to do something....well i did do something I drove 30 miles and put my body in motion, just didn't get any convos going as you can imagine when you feel like that you don't really wanna talk to anyone....................On a good news note though guys this was cool as Sh!t last night geuss what happened?!!!!!!


The first girl I got a number from that you all keep telling me to call, well last night when i was getting ready to go out geuss what happened....SHE CALLED ME!!!!! I was like SCORE! We had a short convo and she told me her schedule this week and I told her Id get back to her and call her today (a little bit of an afc move) yeh it was pretty obvious that she had been waiting for me to call and when i hadn't she wanted to call me and get a date going......Cool deal I'll prolly call her today sometime and maybe schedule something for this weekend maybe early next week......

That was cool stuff though having a chick call me for a date, especially a hot one that i liked!!!!


Im going out tonight cause Im feeling a little better and the fevers gone (thanks to Nyquil and dayquil) although last night was rocky when I went to sleep i woke up in a cold sweat twice during the night its the most horrible feeling when your entire bed is soaked cause you broke the fever, you feel like you wet the bed or something....LOL bad feeling....

hey dude nothing wrong with telling her you'll call her back. When you are busy and stuff, and you tell her you'll talk to her later that shows you're busy and have a life which makes you even more desireable/mysterious. Also shows you aren't desperate and willing to 'drop everything' to talk to her.

Subtle point...you shoulda said "I'll call you later." to make it more mysterious instead of "I'll call you tomorrow."...but that's not too big a deal, she has a good interest level if she is the one calling you and that's what's important. good job.

Thats awesome Pugs. I really am happy for you. It makes me feel good to know these cold approaches can work. You have to tell us all about the date we will be eager to hear. BTW Nyquil does work wonders. My dad claims its the cure all to any disease. Flu-take nyquil, diabetes- take nyquil, Herpes-take nyquil, Cancer-take nyquil. Next day you will be 100%

Day 12 approaches 22+23

Hey guys.....I went out last night, I was feeling a little better, although I still sounded like I had both of my nostrile squeezed shut....


It was a rather uneventful night and I felt fear of appraoching some girls creep up on me at times cause of the day off and I didn't approach all of the women that I wanted to or should have...



Heres how the two approaches went,

One of them I was in Barnes and Nobles in the CD section looking at cd's I spotted a HB9 brunette perfect body who was in another cd section and I chickened out in approaching her and I went to another section of cd's and put on a set of headphones and started jammin to it....well whaddya know she pulls up to me less than 5 feet away and I thought she was trying to come onto me......I took off the headphones and I said

Me: Hi how are you doing?
Her: Good
Me: Hey didn't we go to different schools together?
Her: She caught on immediatly and said "No I don't think so"
Me: So we didn't go to different schools together?
Her: Smiling and blushing, she was VERY softspoken, then she says " thats very original, Ive never heard that before" Like she knew what game I was playing...
Me: Yeh you're good most people dont catch onto that the first time....

Then after that the convo kinda went dead and it was aware to me that she didn't want to talk to me...

Me: Have you been keepin out of this cold lately?
Her: Yeh
Me: Yeh it feels much better than it did two days ago doesnt it?
Her: Yeh

Then i was like screw you , Im not wasting my time talking to a wall that just echos back when I talk to them.......so I introduced myself then left......Thinking about it later on knowing she was a 9 I should have teased her about her voice and spoke back to her in the same tone to make her laugh and make fun of at the same time to kinda break thie ice...... Oh well any other things I could have done?


The Second one was the same thing really

I was at a table when a chick came up to the table and I said hi then the trademark line and she caught on immediatly and didnt really laugh then ran away.....I don't know what could make the difference in the line and the responses I got last night were kinda cold and standoffish and not really any laughing...If My voice the way it was made them come off that way....or how I said it......or if it was just a coincidence but those two cold rejections just got under my armor and festered and made me wandered If I was doing something wrong....IDK but they were hard to bear onto today i geuss thing I could have changed when I said them or how I said them or any adjustments in them welcome......

I don't think the difference was in your approach at all because you still did your thing and were as confident as you usually were. The difference was that the girls just weren't very responsive. Most of the girls you have talked to have been responsive positively to your conversations with them, but not all women will be. The way I look at it is, if they don't respond positively if I use a funny opener, they probably aren't the kind of girl I would have a good time talking to anyway.

Don't sweat the cold chicks pugs. There are plenty of them to go around and I'm pretty sure many of us had our fair share of those. Most of the girls I've met in the past were something like that.

Nice thread, it shows the very basic truth of cold approaches:

HB's love to be approached.

The more you approach, the more you realise there's really nothing to lose, the more power you gain, the easier it becomes. The moment you say your first line to the HB, you're already standing out from the crowd. Because it shows you got balls.

The "are you single" line is great to begin with and realise it is actually YOU who got all the power, since you are the one that decides to approach or not.

If you ask "are you single" to a HB you don't know, most of the time the responds will be no, as seen in this thread. Why? 3 reasons:

-She's not into you
-She truly has a BF
-The "are you single" line is a qualifing question. If you approach with confidence, you already show alot of value. She will try to compensate, telling a confident stranger she's single basically gives you all the power, it is very direct and most HB's that say that they're indeed single are attracted to you, based on confidence and even more on looks.

I still use the "are you single" line myself sometimes.

*If she says yes I tell her:

me: mmm....interesting
me: how about your massage skills?
she: I'm pretty good (if she says she sucks go into you learning her)
me: Great! Now you're not going to tell me your adventurous too?
she: Yeah I'm pretty adventurous

Ok that last question is key because this is how I ensure the #close, I tell her I'm going to get a drink at some place and that she should come along. Since I asked if she was adventurous, and she replied positive, the HB's actually come along most of the time, then let the rapport begin. Unless they don't have the time, in that case I #close. Remember they said yes to the "are you single" line so they are already attracted, so as soon as you can begin rapport.

*If she says no: (note most of the time NOT TRUE)

she: I got a BF
me: Great, now you have something to do...when I'm not around
she: (laughing)
me: Come along let's get this secret romance going
she: (laughing)
me: Kino -> grab her hand and try to pull her along (not to hard ofcourse)

If she doesn't really have a BF she will ask were you are going, then you're IN. Because if she has a BF she tells you that again. Still ask her #.
