I changed my picture and my messages have gone through the roof. Last night, I had no fewer than 6 women wink or message me lats night alone. I remember a time when this thread would have been deleted. That was back in the day when more people bought into the pickup guru myth that looks don't matter. People seem to have a more realistic view on the topic now, although maybe the pendulumn has swung back a bit too far. Looks will never be as important on men as on women, because men have so many more ways to attain high value.

This is why although looks are relevant they don't "matter" for a number of reasons., namely because they're so radically subjective and so easily overcome by money, status and game and are the most subjective of the 4. I'd liken it to how special teams are relevant but most games will be or could be decided on the strength of the offense or defense.

Most studies I've seen show that women prefer men around four years older than themselves, and that pretty well matches what I see in real life. As you bring up, if she can find a wealthy guy she will prefer that. I know girls have jobs these days, but they are still hard wired to seek providers/successful men/alphas/. But it isn't just wealth that makes a guy high value or high status. If a guy is perceived as "cool" that will buy him points too.

It's not that looks don't matter, of course looks matter. But unlike women, guys have other ways to raise their dating value. Even if it's just that he's a big burly biker guy who can beat people up. We've all seen this, I don't see how people can deny it.

I'm not really disputing anything you say, and never had problems in regards to looks, or attracting women initially based on that. It's true that you need looks to be able to attract them, leagues do exist, etc. What I'm saying is, there's more to it. It's not so cut and dry, AND you don't necessarily need to be good looking to bang hotties, or attract women in general. Nor does being good looking guarantee that you're going to be able to attract or keep them over an extended period of time. Sex, sure. You can be pretty much anything, and still get laid, or have an FWB situation. Doesn't matter if they hate your guts, and wish you'd die.

There's also varying degrees of looks. You can't use a male model vs below average nerd - then claim to have conclusive evidence. It doesn't mean a non-male model has no chance - he just has it easier, and gets it quicker. Nor does it mean that the model is desirable beyond a fling.

This doesn't "prove" that women bang male models only - then settle with a nice guy later. That's only how you want to see it. It's all generalizing.

Someone who says looks don´t matter, or that game doesn´t matter is just a retarded who probably doesn´t leave his room. Who wins? The best player or the best good looking guy? It depends on a lot of factors, but for clubbing one night stands I would say looks are better. For social circle, school,college, job etc, it really depends...but the player may very well win. I know a few couples of gorgeous girls with average guys. Of course they got to know each other with constant interactions, I would say that if these average guys tried the pua approach in the club, they wouldn´t have a chance.

The bottom line is that looks is what gets your foot in the door. Men cannot be "universally attractive", as can women. There exists a universal and largely cross-cultural template that the vast majority of men will respond favorably to.

Conversely, different women like different "types" of men. However, there are some principles of almost universal attributes that we can harness:

1) Be fit
2) Clean-cut look (this varies but it is by far the most attractive currently)
3) Subtle sense of style in clothing

Number two has some variables to it. If you are not clean-cut, you must convey that you are purposely that way. You need to avoid the in-between look, as if you are unkempt. When in doubt, clean-cut wins the day.

That's pretty much it. Leverage those three things and your foot will be in the door more often than not. You have eliminated the "looks" barrier.

If you have a physical issue that works against you and you can't fix right now, then leverage whatever you can and bulldog your way through. A man can easily switch a woman's perception of a physical "fault" into something that is very endearing to her after he hooks her with his character.
