An example is a friend i have. Hes super popular and has a good ass personality,everyone wants to be around him. Hes a photographer and has Soo many connections, even with celebrities. He takes photos of them and gains access to their shows backstage. But guess what? Hes ugly.

You would think with his personality and value girls would want him. They dont. Instead they befriend him and use him for connections.

Just to throw my opinion in, I definitely think looks matter. But I disagree that looks are EVERYTHING.

Now some guys are so ugly that they probably have to settle for less. But most guys fall into the average looking range IMO.

I'm (still) not disagreeing with you guys... We're all on the same page, here. The physical attraction has to be there, but there are ways to improve yourself BEYOND that. As well, there are OTHER qualities you need to KEEP someone interested. How is this so hard to grasp? Nobody is talking about ugly, below average, to average guys.

Looks AREN'T everything - they only set the groundwork / get you in the door. But they are still required to get IN the door. No, you won't be accepted without meeting their physical standards. But that's just the minimal requirement.

Someone who meets their physical standards + has those other qualities will fare better than someone who's a better looking wussbug. For the sake of argument, let's say there's a guy who's a 6 and an 8. Both meet the minimal standards, but the 6 has all those other qualities, and the 8 has none. The 6 will pretty much be on the same wavelength, if not better (especially if he approaches).

That's the whole point - AFTER you meet their physical standards. And again, there are varying degrees of looks, and everyone has different tastes and standards. Some girls require you to be "exciting", some don't like shy, unassertive guys, some this, some that. Again, this is AFTER you meet their minimal physical standards.

Did you guys notice the CONTEMPT the girl had online for the average looking guy? This observation should be a wakeup call for some. Average looking girls see average looking guys as DIRT. They think they are better than them and deserve far more. They get OFFENDED if a guy within their own league hits on them.

For most men, if a female isn't our type, it's NOT personal. I have no bad/negative feelings towards overweight women. They're just people. Not my type, but I have no issue with them personally.

But if a female isn't attracted to a guy (even an average or decent looking guy) she RESENTS him for it. It is very personal to her. I'm speaking from experience.

I know women I've done nothing to that all but hate me because I don't fit the particular looks profile they are into.

As guys we divide girls into doable or not doable, and while we chase the doable ones we simply treat undoable ones as people we just happen to dont be attracted to, we limit out opinion about look while we judge other features for what they are.

Girls are nowhere like this, if you are unattractive you can do no good even in other fields, they resent you for being ugly as if you did something bad to them.

Not only that but if you are unattractive they take it as a life mission to keep you down, sabotage your reputation,make sure you dont get the promotion and so on....they only want certain kind of guys to exist while the others have no right.

All the above hits a nerve...some women do that....girlfriends at the water cooler...all hot this, hot that....regarding that behaviour in the workplace, its very sad, shallow, really unprofessional and can affect the guy in preceding on with life. But it happens. Its the one aspect I am not looking forward to when I start work. My current volunteering work is in an environment that has none of that thank goodness.

You get a job to make money to support her, right? That's why our elders used to bully us to do something with our lives, right? But alas you can't get anywhere with a woman because of this behaviour?! What the hell?
