The counterpoint is I would find it hard to believe the Founding Fathers who were men of action that faced challenges head on would be sitting around with their d!cks in their hands as 20+ mass shooting events happened. Pretty sure they would have acted after one such event, not sat around trying to say guns didn't do it.

Really have no issues with restricting assault rifles. Just don't see that having much impact on solving the issue. With easily accessible illegal options to modify and being able to 3d print. Don't see it solving the problem

If a militia is needed how do you arm it after the fact? "Oh please tyrants that we're opposing, please give us weapons to oppose you."

Your statement is why the 2nd amendment was written the way it was. People form militias when needed and bring their weapons with them.. Of course civilians have use for weapons designed to kill other people. They're meant to kill tyrants when militias are needed.

Actually since posse commitatus is now irrelevant - (we nationalized the NG’s in the aftermath of 9/11 and never undid it) - there are no state militias they’ve been federalized and legally cannot be used to police the populace as intended.

I’d probably disarm you before you could get a poodle shooter round off, but sure. 5.56mm is worthless, anyone who knows anything about firearms shoots 30 cal or better…

Here's a big tip for you. There are a lot of really successful and resourceful people who are not just the .0001% Rothchild blood lines. They see what is on the horizon and are actually making sure they are prepared. They certainly aren't crying online saying all hope is lost. Societies throughout history have gone through these upheavals, it is nothing new. It isn't just a few families who do well either. There is actually a lot of opportunity during these transitional periods if you are prepared. There will be winners and losers. Decide which one you want to be. I actually watch some gun channels on YT, I’ve done clay shooting many times.
i begrudging accept that if I don’t want the weird bloke around the corner with a firearm, or criminals who have to be armed (ours generally aren’t armed unless they are serious gangsters because the heat is too high), then I have to leave firearms to sporting purposes.
If I was living in the US I would most certainly own a gun, if it was legal for me to do so.

People literally are obsessed with this notion that someone is going to take over the country if they don't have AR 15s or similar weapons but simply looking at other countries that have banned them shows this hasn't played out at all. What has played out is they don't have mass shootings anymore.
