The Final Hair Update... Goodbye to my Waves
So with the exception of posting how my various haircuts have gone, the journey of getting waves and shyt like posting about my hair care is finally, finally over. And I’ll update y’all as to why.
So I was getting really frustrated with the way my hair was going. It was so thick, it wasn’t curling right, and it just looked ugly in general. So I got fed up at last, and I took the clippers and put a 1.5 guard to my head... which is for all intents and purposes a buzz cut. Too low for waves, but it looks good. I forgot how great a low cut, bald fade, and a fresh lineup felt.
But being honest, I really like it. I posted on my Snapchat asking people. And this girl that I had a huge crush on but graduated told me “I’m here for it” with clapping emojis. Asked more female friends and they said it looked good, and they preferred my hair short. It feels great. And with a fade, I’ve got swag too.
Easy maintenance too, it’s very simple. All I have to do is moisturize it and cut it once a week. Plus, it looks masculine just like Pook says. And all the brushing and wolfing of waves is just killing me. Can’t do all that anymore.
On top of that, the low cut is easier to cut than when it’s thick. So I may invest in some better clippers, and when I get really cold with the haircuts, I’ll be fresh 24/7. On top of that, if Chris Brown and Try Songz can make a buzzcut look swaggy, there’s no reason that I can’t too.
So I’m really glad I was a waver for a bit. I learned a lot about hair and found some really cool channels. But it’s a buzzcut from now on! Instead of going for deep waves, I’ll have the low maintenance cut that looks short, clean, crisp and trimmed.
Plus that stupid hair insecurity is now dead so I can really hit the gym.
