You gave the black perspective, let me give some white perspective. Yes, there are racists, I'm sure there will always be racists. But I think 90% of white Americans bear no ill will toward minorities, and do not want to discriminate against them, and do not discriminate against them.
I disagree. 45% of this country (mostly white support) will vote for Trump, who's made his entire platform on keeping out Muslims (70% are of color) and Mexicans (90% of color).

But I think many white Americans feel like we have "owned up to our racist history" until we are blue in the face.
If that is true why can't @Danger and @BlueAlpha1 still not admit that slavery was awful and still affects the black community?

We have bent over backwards to make laws against discrimination,
Not just laws, amendments to the constitution. They were still circumvented to allow discrimination. We're still doing it. It was once poll taxes. Then separate but equal. Now is on "religious liberty," and "school choice."

and to help the poverty stricken and people of color to get work and education.
How can the poverty stricken get an education when we fund education through property taxes?

How can the poverty stricken get an education when we privatize public schools?

How can the poverty stricken get an education when tuition goes much faster than inflation?

How can the poverty stricken get work when we've been shipping jobs overseas for decades?

How can the poverty stricken get out of poverty when you won't increase the minimum wage?

How can the poverty stricken get out of poverty when you destroy unions?

How exactly are you proposing to help the poverty stricken?

But it seems like the more we do, the louder the cry gets about how racist we are and how much we discriminate.
What exactly have you, your friends and family, or white politicians done to help poverty in minority communities?

And the black people who try to become successful and work with the system are called traitors to their race. It gets tiresome after awhile. If we can't invite you to work within the system because that's wanting you to be too much like us, what's the answer? Go back to segregation?
I'm successful and work with the system and have never been called a traitor. Most of my friends are the same. Who told you this was a thing?

Wow. Get a life. I've never stated or suggested anything remotely close to this in any of my posts.
You don't have to say it. It's pretty obvious you can't stand white people.

I'm everything white America wants a black man to be. Young, college-educated, white-collard professional with not even a speeding ticket to my record.
Good for you. Then you are living proof racism is no longer a major problem in America anymore and anyone can make it.

You've made it clear you don't care about fixing black crime and the family unit.
Stop lying. I just propped up every black conservative and political pundit that has dedicated their career to this very issue. People like Larry Elder and Thomas Sole will be legends in 50 years.

Why are blacks still underrepresented in all those positions you listed?
Another loaded word. They're not. Blacks make up 13% of the population. Throw out the children and the retirees who are not earning money and now we're talking 8% of the population. Black super athletes are heavily overrepresented in 3 of the 4 major sports and overrepresented in positions of political leadership like mayoral, judges, police in many American cities. Baltimore is run by 70% black people.

And how the hell can somebody be underrepresented in offices like the Presidency and Attorney General when there's 1 spot? Blacks are 100% of those two positions...

Yes. You need to acknowledge that it happened and still affects the black community.
Everyone acknowledges it happened, but slavery has no real world implications 150 years later. The Jews were almost exterminated 75 years ago (yes, the Holocaust happened for you clowns reading) and now run the world. The Khmer Rouge happened 48 years ago and wiped out 25% of a country, but Cambodia is doing swimmingly today.

You may have a slight case that Jim Crowe still has a minor affect, although a strong argument can be made that after 3 generations of reparations handouts programs the pendelum has swung so far in the other direction it's now reverse discrimination.

I'm successful and work with the system and have never been called a traitor. Most of my friends are the same. Who told you this was a thing?
BET. Buzzfeed. Atlanta Black Star. Tareek Nashid. Boyce Watkins. Michael Eric Dyson. These people are famous for crucifying any black person who diverts from the black victimhood narrative.

More lies and fabrications. He's clarified his position is to keep Syrian "refugees" out. And bless him for it, because it's an thinly veiled invasion that is currently destroying Europe. He's not talking about banning the Sufi Muslim from Indonesia who wants to come here to study medicine, you tool. I'm surprised you didn't play the "Islamophobia" card again. It is not possible to be bigoted towards Muslims any more than it is to be bigoted towards scientologists or socialists, because Islam is just a religion with a strong political code. Nothing to do with race.

And he wants to keep out illegal immigrants from sneaking across the border. We have 15 million illegal aliens in this country who are undocumented. Many do smuggle in drugs. Many get free handouts and medical care which WE pay for through higher taxes, they take low level jobs that poor Americans could use, and they are used to commit massive voter fraud for the Democratic party which undermines our entire election process. He's not talking about the Mexican family of 4 who goes through the process because he wants a better life for his family. Again, you're lying and it's you whose fear mongering.

If anything, you'd want to hold the illegals accountable. They hurt the black community more than whites could ever dream of.

Of course slavery happened, by every race and to every race. There is nothing about it which makes you a unique snowflake though.
Stop deflecting and own it.

Nonsense. Here you go with your "us" vs. "them" tribalism.

My ancestors did not even migrate to this country until after slavery was abolished.
I saw a post on another forum that stated:

"I have not owned slaves. My father did not own slaves. My grandfather did not own slaves. My great grandfather did not own slaves. My great great grandfather did not own slaves. And my great great great grandfather fought to free the slaves."

Why should I feel responsible?

Colin Kaepernick, backup QB for the San Francisco 49ers, chose to sit and not stand during the national anthem prior to his team's preseason game with the Green Bay Packers. He said he did this because he could not take pride in a country that oppresses minorities.
A lot of these black athletes are following this fool.

Meanwhile the death toll in Chicago continues to go through the roof with Ray Ray killing Pookie, as well as Pookie shooting 9 year old kids in the chest trying to fire his gun back at Ray Ray. And of course...there's ZERO MENTION of this shyt by any black athlete.

We want the world to fit a standard of BLACK LIVES MATTER, without holding our own people to the same motafvcking standard. All these idiots can do is respond talking about most crime is internal between the races...like the FVCK that explains away the need to hold our own people to the same motafvcking standard of BLACK LIVES MATTER.

Everytime you preach personal responsibility to black people, they start talking about how WHITE people do it too, like that's a fvcking excuse. And what gets me is how on one hand you bytch about white people holding you back, then on the other hand you want to hide behind that same WHITE GROUP when it comes to personal responsibility? White people do it too? I thought you didn't like white people, so why the fvck would you wanna do the same bullshyt that they do?

Black people are a lost fvcking cause.

Stop deflecting and address the issue being discussed.

Not only are you deflecting, you're creating a strawman argument.

Where do you come up with this ****? Who says black people have no personal responsibility?

@EyeBRollin just demanded a man who told you there's a 0% chance his ancestors owned slaves to "own it" anyway. The world literally is black and white to you, and all whites are inherently guilty. You're logic is no different than a Klansmen 50 years ago or Khaled Muhammad, the black supremacist leader of the Nation of Islam in the 90's.

You're really a hideous person.

Stop deflecting what lol?

Black people trying to convince white people that black lives matter......when black lives don't matter to us.......is like a fat chick going around the country preaching to others the importance of weight loss, all the while this bytch has like 3 CHINS and weighs like 350lbs lol.

What's that Luke 6:42 verse again? I think it goes something like: How can you say to your brother, "Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye," when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye?

Say it.

America was built on slavery.

Own it.
I'll say it....America was built on slavery because dumb a.ss Africans SOLD their own people into the slave trade in 1619 which lasted all the way until 1865.

Fast forward to today, black people are selling their own people into slavery AGAIN. Only this time, they are doing it through the illegal, underground, drug/dope game. Causing black men to be locked up in prison working for pennies on the dollar in the modern day slavery system.

In both cases of slavery, it was our OWN PEOPLE who sold us into it.

The are so many people right now on this planet who are getting screwed by life circumstances beyond their control, and that makes worrying about what happened 150 years ago seem like a big waste of time to me.

The agricultural workers who pick your food are mostly Mexican, some Guatemalan and other Central American nationalities. Every day, they wade through fields that have been sprayed with pesticides, fungicides, herbicides...all sorts of fun chemicals. They also get rare diseases of the central nervous system at something like 10,000 times the normal rate. But these are quiet people who just want to work hard for their family. No one raises a stink when they die. If they did, someone might eventually pose the question of why do we all eat food that has enough chemicals on it to kill the people who grow and harvest it? That would be an example of a productive dialogue to have, one that might actually end up benefiting society, unlike standing in traffic because you are mad about what happened a long time ago.

We are all responsible for the effects of American slavery still existing in society, including me.

The coons do. You don't.
Coons??!?!!!! Just call them ******s. That's what you really mean. Just call them ******s.

So do you hate America or just whites?
Strawman fallacy - a sham argument set up to be defeated.

EVERY nation had slavery, so remind me what is so special about the whites in the US as opposed to every other race and nation on the planet that had slaves
Stop deflecting.

That's like a murderer saying, "you know what, other people commit murder so what is special about mine?"

American slavery was wrong. Admit it.

What's even worse is an Uncle Tom who can't even admit that American colonists did the indefensible; owning other human beings for economic gain.

Fast forward to today, black people are selling their own people into slavery AGAIN. Only this time, they are doing it through the illegal, underground, drug/dope game. Causing black men to be locked up in prison working for pennies on the dollar in the modern day slavery system.

So White American colonists aren't responsible for enslaving and raping black folks because other people did it too? Is that what you're telling me, Tom?

The fact is, what happened 150 years ago still affects how black Americans are treated today. We couldn't even vote until 50 years ago, and many states are reneging on the Voting Rights Act today. What's next?

No, we aren't. I never owned a slave. I was born centuries after slavery was abolished. I bear zero responsibility. But feel free and go give away some money yourself. Of course you won't, because you're a phony.

Coons??!?!!!! Just call them ******s. That's what you really mean. Just call them ******s.
Nice try moron, stole that from Carl Stokes and Erin Burnett did you? I saw the interview you stole the line from. Even the fake outrage complete with exclamation points.

Oh, and a disgraceful attempt to play dumb on the word coon. As if you don't know that coon is a word you use for black people who ditch the victim complex. Nothing to do with the n word.

And now you're calling people Tom? Shame on you, black racist.

Not really. I've given you countries that recovered in half the time from worse atrocities.

What's next is black only water fountains, and "no whites allowed" student unions on college campuses. Hell, we already have that last one.
