But I think many white Americans feel like we have "owned up to our racist history" until we are blue in the face.

They also get rare diseases of the central nervous system at something like 10,000 times the normal rate. But these are quiet people who just want to work hard for their family. No one raises a stink when they die. If they did, someone might eventually pose the question of why do we all eat food that has enough chemicals on it to kill the people who grow and harvest it? That would be an example of a productive dialogue to have, one that might actually end up benefiting society, unlike standing in traffic because you are mad about what happened a long time ago.
