But the dark seems to be fading gradually.
Im pretty sure I've figured out how to prevent that. Applying TOO much to the undereye causes that for me - whether its the same for you I dunno. Try to get a minor glazing on it, thats what I do and its fine.

Hey guys,

Just something i've found to be helpful with the gel.

Lately i've been putting it on as usual after the shower, but waiting about 40 mins then very gently wiping it off with my finger and cold water.

I think it gives it long enough to absorb into the skin, so just the right amount goes in, then washing away all the rest which may irritate later on in the night.

Its making the under eye less redder in the morning.

BTW, has anyone seen any improvement yet?

Cheers :)

Hey Lost,

I'd say once a day at night would be best, it might irritate too much with 2-3 times a day.

Just take it slow and it should be fine.

Pete,
May I ask what prompted you to try this in the first place? Afterall, its not exactly common knowlege that Aloe improves the undereyes...

Sure Jimbo, its a long story but :)

Well, it was more a process of elimination really.

My undereyes were really getting dark, almost kind of bruised looking. It really wasnt helping with the ladies, cos apart from them i'm an ok looking guy.

So i went into my local store and brought some skin moisteriser stuff (embarrased to say it was Olay!). And gave that a go. It actually made things a bit better suprisingly!

But it wasnt working like I wanted it too. So I did a search on the net for under eye creams and came across what they were calling a miracle cure for the circles. Vitamin K cream.

So I went to the local chemist here and found some. It was really expensive, but i was desperate so i brought it.

It worked quite well, but it was slow. I could see changes, but it was taking weeks. Then one morning I woke up and all the area was worse than red, blotchy and scary looking.

I shat myself, well freaked out and vowed to never use it again.

I was at work thinking i might need to see a dermatologist if things didnt get better, which made me think of, of all things, a Seinfeld episode where Jerry dates a dermatologist. And Jerry and George say the whole dermatology business is "Put some aloe on it".

So i thought f*ck it, I'll try aloe. Went back to the chemist and looked at the back of the jars and stuff. And one had a list of all the vitamins that Aloe contains. Vitamin K was one.

So i gave it a go and all the red scaryness disappeared over night and from there things got better very quickly. So I posted here because I was so impressed :)

I know how bad it can be to have the dark circles so I wanted to let everyone know how I got rid of mine.

I must say i'm a bit concerned when people say they get reactions from it, because I know how bad that can be. But I honestly never had anything bad happen from using it. Its been a while now too.

Thanks for asking Jimbo!
Anyway, How are yours looking? Any better?

I have been using this Lumineyes stuff by Mary Kay for about a month now and my dark circles are greatly reduced. They aren't gone but they're much better. I also started using a creme with alpha lipoic acid but it's too early to tell what effect it's having. Another importaqnt tip for getting rid of dark circles is to reduce caffeine and increase water intake. I recently gave up soda and am drinking loads of water. My skin in general has improved from this.

i read this thing in cosmo about using a concealer for ur undereyes.. and it said to like damp it on in dots... and then just press down on those spots...... instead of spreading it (which worsens dark circles it said)
so i figure ill try this with the aloe.......... ? but... i dont think it would really spread if ur just pushin on the spot wher u first placed the aloe???

insteada putting all these cremes on ur eyes (which can be bad for your face in the future) you all should just get enough sleep...stop going online all day...drink 8 glasses of water a day...eat healthy and exerciese!! thats all u gotta do and they'll go away by itself!!

plus once u start using the aloe, ur eyes become dependant on it and you need more and more of it!

Your eyes won't become dependent on aloe or any other skin care product. Sure sleep is important but lack of rest is not the only reason for dark circles. Allergies, genetics, diet, smoking, and a whole bunch of other things can be the culprit. Taking care of your skin, eyes, face, or whatever is important, and aloe and other creams can be beneficial in this regard.

I have little bumps underneath my eye that are clogged pores.

Does anyone have any recommendations for this?

There is some commercial on TV where it shows a chick with cucumbers on her face, and then shows a guy just using a quick moisturizer by NIVEA. I may start giving that a try, but I"m not sure what the exact brand of NIVEA it is.
