I think you got all the advice to dig yourself deeper into the loser world of internet dating, so I'm gonna close this thread, just becayse i hate online flirting that much.

So we have moderators closing down threads because they don't like online dating? WTF?

I had four dates this weekend, two that went QUITE well, and none of them less than a 7, all of them from an internet profile that I "maintain" an hour or two a week. And yet, because you have some irrational hatred of online dating, you want to close a thread down for no apparent reason, other than it's about online dating? Yet all the other Bullsh1t threads about "Wah, what does this mean in ********?" and all the other stupid crap that gets talked about goes on and on? But, because you don't hate that, it goes on and on.

Give me a ****ing break. If that's what this board is going to be about I'm out of here. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that others haven't used it to great success.

And what you don't understand is the huge impact that online dating is making. It's a huge market, they expect it to almost double this year from about $348 Mil to $642 Mil. So, ignore this trend at your own risk, after all it's less competition for those of us willing to master this "field". (Source: Entrepreneur Magazine Dec 2004)

I have a problem with moderators closing threads for no other reason than they don't like online dating. If you don't like it, don't read it. But, don't assume that others aren't interested. I'm not interested in high school pickups, so I don't read about them. But, if we have moderators that can randomly close threads just because they don't personally like the topic at hand or are in a bad mood, or any other arbitrary reason, it will stunt the free flow of information that can be found on this board. And if you're not going to allow discussions about online dating, then that should be in the rules and regulations we all signed when we joined this board. Have a set of rules and guidelines that are consistent and it makes for a much more efficient board.

I agree. That thread and many others should not have been closed like that. Some mods are being a little too overzealous with closing threads and insulting people these days.

I remember one time when some mod posted about psychic seduction in the unusual techniques forum (I think it was Brazilian Boy Blues) and you insulted the cr*p out of him for being such a loser and believing that stuff, and he threatened to have you banned!!!

haha...and he wrote "if you weren't such a respected poster, you'd be banned now"... And now you're a mod...haha and can "officially" insult people and get them banned to boot!

Sorry gents, but as I said, I hate online dating/flirting/attempts to get into a chicks pants through a website that much.

If you want advice to getting chicks online, you'd better find another forum because this forum is about becoming a Don Juan, not some internet loser. Success != skill.

Dude that's not the point. I don't have to give you any legitimate reasons and no one else should either.

Being a mod does not give you the right to demand that posters justify to you why you shouldn't close their threads.

There are supposed to be policies and rules on this site, set by the admin and communicated to all members.

You mods should be mature enough to not just f*cking arbitrarily close threads because you don't like online dating or whatever topic is being discussed.

If it's a policy then close the thread. If not, then moderate the threads, don't close them. Don't abuse the fact that you're a mod....This type of power tripping kills the vibe on a discussion forum and sends people to post elsewhere.

You're 18 years old right? I'm guessing you haven't been doing any online dating since you have to be 18 to do so legally.

If I'm wrong and you have LEGITIMATE reasons for hating online dating, then you should post them in the original thread instead of closing it and making fun of people who are into it. And if you post those reasons on the original thread, I'll jump in and post the advantages of online dating for buisy career oriented people who don't have time or energy to go out on weeknights.

Grow up dude. Either discuss the topic or ignore it, and if the thread is against site policy then by all means shut it down.

If I think internet dating is stupid and pointless I get the right to close it.

If you find something wrong with this, please be assured that I will take your complaint, and think about it for a breif time and realize that I still am gonna close threads I find to be stupid and pointless in order to avoid having 20 million OMG ONLINE DATING HELP! threads.

You should post your "friend's" story in Anything Else so that it could teach others something, unless if it get shut down or deleted.

Yea, I agree with Vicent on this one... There are so much people to interact with IRL, why whould you restrict or restrain your interactions to just i-net. Many people would try and become content with online dating (or already are) so if we decided to advocate it...

I am going to agree with Vincent people. This isn't the first internet dating thread. Do a search and find an active one. I believe there is one in The Archive.

Also, if you want to whine about something, PM the mod that closed it. If I had gotten to this before Gio, I would have closed it and told you all to PM him. No need to try and call him out in internet public.
