I'm gonna have to disagree with you here man. If one looks into history, there are many occasions where the rich use government to force people to do things. Bastiat rightfully termed it 'legal plunder'. That is why you have corporations going to the government through special interest. That is why people like Robert Kiyosaki preaches about exploiting the unfair tax system. Just because there is a law does not make that law moral or right. From the beginning people perverted the law for their own selfish desires.
One of the fundamental aspects of being a human being is that you are a SELFISH creature, just the same as any animal, built that way to ensure your survival.

And don't even get me started about Kiyosaki. I own a half dozen of his books and he NEVER claimed you should "exploit" the tax system. He advocates using it to your advantage, which is what every SMART person should be doing anyway.

You and everyone else have an issue with trying to attach all of the blame to the most visible target.

You assume that this one person at the top is the devil and everyone underneath are angels. It doesn't work that way. The big target will always be the source of scrutiny and will get the most airtime on the news (as determined by the desire of the public for the exact thing that you are promoting!), but fact of the matter is EVERYONE is guilty.
actually im saying that its a system. if you get some downtime watch the movie the corporation, youll see what im talking about.

i mean, a lot of these CEOs who are doing bad things are actualy good people. they are only doing what they are doing to increase profits because if they don't they will be fired, because the corporation has to make a profit so that share prices go up and people keep buying a stake in the company (via their shares).

its quite hilarious when you think about it. a guy can be invested in Ford and when their stock goes up he makes more money. and this same company, Ford, can fire this guy to reduce their costs so that their profits go up so that their shareholders get a bigger return. so this guy basically gets fired by Ford so that the shares he owns in Ford are worth more.

its a mad mad world out there :)

oh and btw, in terms of the influence these companies wield. lets just say you'll never get invited to a presidential dinner, but the CEO of GE, Ford, etc. get invited every three months.

there is a good old boys club of the rich and powerful, dont fool yourself about that.

the question is to what extent they are actually conspiring to 'rule' the world if you will.
Valid point, however, you and others fail to account for the fact that those "rich and powerful" still have to provide a valuable product or service in order to keep their jobs or their businesses. There is a system of checks and balances that ensure that things don't get too far out of whack.

And there will never, EVER be a conspiracy to rule the world, if only for one simple reason, and that reason is that EVERYONE is selfish by nature.

The fact that people wont even think about abolishing the federal reserve today is crazy! That's how much the matrix has control over most of us. There is definitely an agenda and it is well hidden from most through censorship by the media.
because people have been lead to follow the governments rules. so talk about shutting down any part of the government and people instantly go 'are you crazy, you can't do that, society will fall apart!"

even though they have no clue what impacts such actions would have.

its funny but sad at the same time.

i don't know. if you ask me all you have to do is look at the fact that the usa has a president who can't really speak properly to know that something is seriously f*cked up.

i mean, seriously, the guy is constantly mixing up words and pronouncing them wrong. i mean, this is the highest position in the entire country! how the hell did this guy get the job?

and the fact that no matter how many times he gets caught in a lie (or having presented faulty information) and no matter how bad things get - he just goes up there like a retarded reckneck with a big smile on his face and utters some cliche and then walk away.

i mean, bush alone suggests there must be some seirous conspiring going on that he somehow was the republican nominee and then won the presidency (although the presidency we can blame on the people. but him being the candidate for the republican party was a giant conspiracy).

Str8up, everyone here disagrees with your basis - which doesn't necessarily make it wrong, but in this topic/forum of mass delusion, the majority see reality for what it is!!
The "matrix" is based upon the fact that the MAJORITY of the public is living in a parallel universe, somewhere south of reality. Could it be the same with money and power where only a few are "in the know"? Hmmmm.....

Go to richdad.com and start rattling off these theories on the message boards there. Some VERY financially savvy people will chew you up and spit you out.

yes and no. when they can't produce a valuable product they just create a sh*tty product and then spend millions in marketing to convince people that they are stupid if they don't buy the product.

how many movies have you seen the commercial for and thought 'man i gotta go see that. it looks so awesome." then you watch and its total crap. ca-ching, the power of marketing just stole 10 bucks from you :)

I agree, there is no doubt that their is a ruling elite right now. All one has to do is look at the history of the Federal Reserve and other national banks around the world. To show an example of this matrix, so many Americans have been taught that the Federal Reserve is good and needed for the economy. That is an example of how deep this matrix is. People who want to abolish the federal reserve are often called crazy. But if you look in history, why did Jefferson put so much effort in killing the first national bank? Why did Andrew Jackson try so hard and risked his life (assassination attempt: 2 times) to kill the second national bank? Jackson even has on his tombstone "I killed the bank." Now think about today. The fact that people wont even think about abolishing the federal reserve today is crazy! That's how much the matrix has control over most of us. There is definitely an agenda and it is well hidden from most through censorship by the media.
Yes!! The Matrix is all encompassing - media, meaning social and cultural, political, and monetary control!! We are being duped!!

and you know whats really crazy - theres nothing we can do about it :)

because its a system that is set to run its course.

so my philosophy is try to ignore it all and live the best life i can amidst the madness.

unplug from the matrix and then make the best of your life while still being surrounded by it.

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a magic wand. Something that will make you almost completely irresistible to any woman you "point it" at. Something guaranteed to fill your life with love, romance, and excitement.

The protection of these unalienable rights for every individual is the proper sphere of government. Once government enforces legal plunder (through special interest, unfair taxing, etc) and redistributes wealth, the Pandora's box gets opened. What I am talking about is nothing new under the sun.
To that I would add providing a means of survival for those whose means of survival the market does not provide. Not to mention that one can argue (and I'd agree wholeheartedly) that paying too low of wages or levying income taxes on people who don't even make a living wage also constitutes plunder.

Ever heard the saying "You can fool some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all of the people some of the time"?

Even if we were to revert back to caveman times there would still be people influencing you on a daily basis.

People like LMS would propose that the world would be a better place without any outside influences.

He's all about what's "natural" yet cannot seem to acknowledge the fact that everything we talekd about on this thread is a product of human nature, and no amount of b!tching and complaining is ever gonna change that.

On that note, I need to get some sleep so I can design a few more price tags for my store to strip people of their hard earned money. Your job depends on the same thing. See the irony?

There's plenty we can do about it ... if enough people are willing to do something about it.

Create self-fulfilling prophecies. Always assume the positive. Assume she likes you. Assume she wants to talk to you. Assume she wants to go out with you. When you think positive, positive things happen.

perhaps. but life is too short to worry about it :)

all i know for sure is that the world has become like a frat house after a keg party (ie. a total f*cking mess).

and all i can hope for is that peopel will wake up and want to create a better world.

but im not holding my breath. so my focus is to enjoy life the best i can and be the best person i can be and hope that others follow my lead. but if they don't its no big deal, i'll make the best of what i've got to work with.

:)

and this is basically the argument.

the anger peopel have towards the system as it is is the position that the system is actively attempting to keep people dumbed down so that they never rebel. and its using its unfair influence over them to do so.

while str8up is saying that if peopel are to stupid to go to the library and learn about something rather than simply watch the simpsons, then its their own damn fault they are stupid and deserve to get bombarded with britney spears videos. :)

and then im saying, that everyone is right, but that its very annoying that i have to live in a world with a bunch of morons who are so easily duped. because when society as a whole gets f*cked, then so do I, because i live in society.

but oh well, im just one man, not much i can do about it :)

if i were in the US id vote for ron paul though :p

Alright Robin Hood....this is absolute BS.

If you stop to think about it for a few seconds you would realize that a minimum wage does nothing but create an artificial floor for wages that actually CREATES HOMELESSNESS.

If the minimum wage for everyone is 7.00 per hour, this means that any job that has a TRUE market value of less than 7.00 leaves some people out in the cold.

Everything should be determined by TRUE market value, and everything would fall into place. These retarded lawsuits against Walmart.....unbelieveable. If someone feels that they are worth more than they are being paid they are free to seek out other employment.

Contrary to popular belief, employers must COMPETE for employees, not the other way around. This is the biggest fallacy in the workplace. the BOSS does not control the wages, the market and the employees do.

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.
