Maybe in Orlando, but in NYC, these clowns are in Brooks Brothers pin striped suits. The women are in power suites as well. I dress accordingly. I hate suits. But if you up your style, do it for you, not to say hey I look like a million bucks now, bytch, fvck me. Though, with the Lambo and some nice threads with some sweet looking shoes, you may be able to pull it off. Women and shoes... I will never understand the fascination. I used to just wear my Timberlands (had black and beige). Upgraded my shoes, so much more comfortable. Trust when I say your feet and back will thank you.
If you say women like shoes so much, tell me some specific kinds that they like.

All this effort... The prize is some stink hole? Haha.

The secret to nice shoes is that hard?
If you want a woman's opinion, one of them should be able to help. For me, one black, one brown, one dark blue and you are covered. The dark blue is good for a more casual outing such as with jeans and a shirt.

As for women’s “obsession” with shoes, my gut feeling is that they are more interested in their OWN shoes (or other women’s shoes).

When I asked* women about this in real life (whether they judge a guy by his shoes), without exception, they all looked at me like I have three heads.

*Not scientific, just randomly a few times in conversation.

While having a great pair of shoes (as a guy) is a bonus and I highly encourage it, I don’t think it is some silver bullet for attraction. It’s more about not spoiling an otherwise great outfit with bad shoes lol.

Everything you are suggesting seems spot on to me. One decent looking comfortable pair of shoes for each occasion.

For casual dates that don’t involve hiking or tennis, or other physical activities more strenuous than walking, a white t-shirt, nice fitting jeans and decent pair of brown John Varvatos hightop dressy/casual shoe looks great on young and middle aged men.

Good shoes are important. They say the right things about how a man dresses.

If you like cowboy boots get a pair of Luchese ropers. If you can't afford Luchese get Justins.

Boots are good casual footwear, good for dancing, good for going out or parties.

Brogues are also great shoes. I'd recommend Allen Edmonds. They are high quality and handmade. They are handsome shoes that say class. Get some that are captoes with tooling on the cap, serated on the edges. My ex has a walnut brown pair and a denim blue pair with red laces. They are snazzy. They look great with good jeans & a stylish dress shirt. They are expensive...$495 USD and up. Get them on sale if possible. Ferragamo also makes a great dress shoe. Also expensive.

If you can't afford Allen Edmonds or Ferragamo (or John Varratos for that matter), look into Hugo Boss, Kenneth Cole, Johnston & Murphy...even Cole Haan (which is getting toward more expensive makes.). You won't have the hand stitched soles with these makes (Allen Edmonds is entry level for a handstitched handmade shoe), but they make stylish dress shoes that will look good and last a while.

My father wore Bally. He resoled his Bally shoes several times over the years.

You want a good pair of black business shoes. Captoes are best IMO, and a pair or two of brogues in brown and blue (casual), and a good pair of boots of some sort and casual shoes for running around. I see lots of guys wear Adidas Sambas for knock about shoes or Vans skateboard shoes.

Whatever you do, never ever wear running shoes as casual wear shoes. Wear running shoes to run or work out only. Nothing says "I have zero style" faster than running shoes with khakis or jeans. Just don't. It's like dad bod for your style. Don't do it. I don't care if it's comfortable. It looks horrendous.

What do you think about extremely expensive watches like Rolex, etc.?

What are the "must haves" for pants? Are there any shorts that are considered dressy?

What about polo shirts? I live in Florida so it's hard to wear long sleeves all the time.

What should be worn as casual wear shoes in place of running shoes?

My opinion about your questions:

1. Watches are an individual thing. Some men are watch guys like some men are car guys. If you are into watches buy something you personally like that suits you. My BF used to wear a gold Rolex (when he had his Viper) but he no longer wears a watch at all and doesn't really miss it. My ex wears a Swiss Army black and silver chronograph that has kind of a diver look or a Tag Huer look but much less expensive to purchase that looks great on him. He's a watch guy. Wearing a Cartier gives a different vibe than a Tag which gives a different vibe than a Rolex, and there is a difference between a gold Rolex and a stainless one. Totally a style thing so pick something that goes with your own personal preference.

2. Basic Bermuda shorts are best for giving a stylish image in South Florida. Don't buy cargo shorts with 6000 pockets. Those look sloppy for going out and about. Check out J. Crew or Ralph Lauren for shorts. Khaki, Tan, Navy are basics. White can be good in the summer too once you get navy and khaki bought. Shorts can be fun. Go to a good golf shop and look at the sort of shorts they carry. You can have some fun with shorts if you wear a fun print or a plaid with a solid t-shirt or golf shirt. Again, based on your sense of style. You can't go wrong with solids but one plaid or print might be fun. Google Palm Beach Casual Men's Style. That's a good look. You'll see various things there that say "sophisticated" in a relaxed way.

3. Polo shirts are fine. Golf shirts are fine. Take cues from high end golf shops for example as far as what's in vogue locally. A couple of linen or tropical print short sleeve shirts with solid shorts, jeans or pants can be a good look. Look at how the men dress in the TV show Miami Vice (both the current one and the original one). Those guys were classically stylish in Miami/Florida tastes and even though the original show was on years ago much of the style the guys wore is still in fashion in Florida...perhaps a little tweaked and updated but you'll get the idea.

4. @R.U.G. covered pants pretty well including jeans. Again it depends on your individual tastes and style personality. My BF wears Rock Revival jeans almost exclusively, but my ex hates Rock Revival as he thinks those jeans are too blingy and flashy. They suit my boyfriend well. My ex wears more the Lucky brand jeans or other less ostentatious things.

5. Instead of running shoes wear some Vans or some Adidas Sambas. You can also get a nice pair of leather or canvas flip flops for very casual wear in FL. To wear with shorts and a t-shirt for example. Some clubs won't admit you in flip flops so keep that in mind. Also, if you wear flip flops, pay attention to your feet, and in particular your toe nails. Toes nails should be neatly clipped and clean at all times. Get an occassional pedicure (seriously). If you have nasty yellow thick (nail fungus) nails, don't wear footwear that shows your toes. If you have attractive feet, you can wear footwear that shows off your feet and you'll look relaxed and cool.

Hope that's useful & nice to see you back.

Just my 2 cents on what fill my wardrobe with:

Shirts: v-necks, tees with buttons (Henley’s?), button downs, and tanks to show off dem muscles in the summer(;

Jeans/Shorts: Never jean shorts, never cargo shorts. Everything well fitted (slim straight not skinny jeans). Maybe some khakis.

Shoes: cognac and black dress shoes for work. Pair of chucks, pair of casual brown shoes, couple pairs of workout shoes.

All this stuff is pretty easy and simple which is how I like to keep it. I’ve been told I dress well.

Watches are good. It’ll compliment your lambo status nicely. I myself have an Apple Watch since I can’t afford the super crazy expensive old school watches. I’ve come to love the Apple Watch lol and the bvtches do too.

You crack me up.

I can see where Crocket got the inspiration for those pants:

Oh stop it @Bible_Belt seriously? The linen pants, loafers with no socks and a snug t-shirt is still a cool look in Miami. I did say it's been tweaked and updated since then...I knew that would get some 80's era eye rolls, lmao.

At any rate...carry on

Thanks. I had no idea cargo shorts were such a turn off. Those are the only type of shorts that I've had for years. Same with running shoes. I am right now in the mall parking lot waiting for it to open. Gonna get some Vans also. Hopefully, it will be a game changer.

Also, I had no idea that girls didn't like toenail fungus. Guess you learn something new every day.

Actually, I will try the Rolex after my first house sells. It's due to close 9/19 assuming nothing comes up.

So these shoes are gonna turn it around for me? I can see it now...

Me and my Vans, J Crew Bermuda shorts, and Peter Millar golf shirt. I'll look like a regular skater/golfer guy despite having never done either of those things.

I really think I should go more for the sophisticated businesswear.
