That isn't a real deload weak.
300lbs deadlifts where your max is 365?

He can do 365x5, using 80% of that which is roughly 300...what is the problem?

80% of one of the big three in his DELOAD WEEK?

He should be doing band good mornings, hamstring curls, that sort of fun things that doesn't involve something heavy and shocking to the CNS.

There are many methods of doing a deload. The whole point is it is 80%, it isn't taxing.

I don't really know much about deloads. But it was a very easy workout none the less. 300 lbs is like nothing compared to 365 lbs

I know of several methods to do a deload, 80% being one of them. As you say, it was light and boring.

Today was amazing. Coming off deload i was a bit scared i wouldn't be stronger - You scared me Quag lol - but none-the-less i felt amazing. Once again I did creatine then my carb 15 minutes after.

Monday

Squats 3x5
1x5 240 lbs - felt pretty easy
1x5 245 lbs - after doing it i was convinced i could jump up on the weights a bit
1x5 - 255 lbs - I could have done a little more but a 10lb increase i thought was good - I was doing them nice and deep and my spotter made sure i did for every rep - ;-)

Leg Press 2x10
2x10 - 330 lbs - I was breathing funny at one part accidentally and it felt like i was losing my hearing for like 5 minutes (steadly got worse)...strange...why would it do that? My ears popped is what i'm guessing

Obliques on roman chair 3x8 - different heavy weighted varieties of movements but a total of 24 reps

Heavy Abs - Situps 2x10
2x10 - 45 lbs - a little winded the first set but the second one i felt great - i need to up this next week to 50lb or 55 lbs next week

Calve raises on leg press- 2x10 (held each burning rep for ten seconds)
2x10 - 415 lbs - should have done more weight...i forgot i did 415 last time. DOH!

cardio - 10 minutes

Good workout - hopefully i'll have a 300lbs squat by the end of March but i'm getting a little fat (holidays were killing me haha) - was thinking about cutting at the end of Feb for a month...I'll have to see. I've been bulking since November 1st. Eating so much (thanks EFFORT you bastard lol) but i have to say I'm looking pretty damn bulky.

Till next time

WED

Woke up tuesday with a severe shoulder pain. Pinched nerve maybe? Couldnt raise left arm above shoulder length because of immense pain. I was hoping it wouldn't hurt today...but it did but to a lesser degree. Made me very angry :box: :box:

Anyways here's my stats

Wednesday: Incline Bench 3x5

1x5 165 lbs - medium difficulty
1x5 170 lbs- difficult but okay

Decided to see if i could do 180 cause i felt fine at 170 lbs
1x1 PR F WOW THAT WAS FREAKIN HARD...bad idea!! finished up at 175 lbs okay. Shoulder hurt a little during the sets.

Skull Crushers 3x8----

35 lbs - Easy
40 lbs - medium
45 lbs - finished all of them. I'd like to jump to 50lbs next week. Thats my goal.

Dumbbell Press 3x8---

60 lbs 3x8 - getting easy. Going to try decline dumbell at 55 - 60 lbs next week. because i am not really getting much out of it.

Lateral Raise 3x6----- Had to skip due to the amount of shoulder pain. Tried it at 10 lbs and ouch! It really hurt.

10 minutes fast walking at the end of my workout

I'd say a pretty good day - damn shoulder pain. Hopefully it will heal up in time for friday. It would def affect pullups and possibly deadlifts. Time to take some advil...till next time.

**Btw for any power-metal listeners out there go check out Avantasia's new album called 'Scarecrow'. It has Alice Cooper, Eric Singer (KISS drummer), Tobias Sammet (Edguy singer), Michael kiske (helloween singer) Jørn Lande, Roy Khan (singer from kamelot), Rudolph Schenker (guitarist from Scorpions), and a slew of others. Fvckin amazing music. Fun to listen and workout to.

Wanna talk about a good day. OH YEAH! :D Man was i feeling good!

Deadlift-2x5 1x1

1x5 365
1x5 370
1x1 405 lbs  PR

Whats great was i could have done more - i never felt so good in my life. Last feb i could only do like 130 lbs starting out, now i conquered 405 lbs. Guys at the gym were complimenting me, guys bigger than me where asking me about the deadlift - one guy came up to me and called me an animal. I had my buddies there giving me support which helped. :woo: :woo: right now i'm so fvcking happy haha

Everything else pretty much the same - rows went up 5lbs

I have a video of the lift but my friend did it on his phone and i'm eagerly awaiting him to put it on youtube, and then i'll show you guys!

Very nice lift, you had at least another 20lbs in you I reckon. Form looked pretty good too. You do the same as me though, not enough leg drive.

Congrats again.

Thanks guys, i appreciate it very much :D

You're absolutely right Quagmire, definitely not enough legs. I usually use more legs but i was just so in the mode to do the one rep. I'll def work on it more tho.

Monday

Another strong day. I'm freakin flying up in weights - pretty scary actually :D

Squats - 3x5

1x5- 250 lbs
1x5- 255 lbs - it just felt so good, i felt very powerful - struggled slightly with last rep
1x5- 265 lbs PR!! I could have done more, i can't believe how strong i'm getting. I remembered horrificially struggling in Dec. with 215 lbs but now I am nailing it, deep and hard haha

Leg Press - 1x15
360 lbs - I could have done more, ugh...last rep was difficult though

Decline Weighted Situps - 2x10
50 lbs - getting a lot easier, struggled on last two reps on second set - time to move up to 55 lbs next week!

Roman Chair - 3x8 with heavy weights 60 - 40

Calve raises 2x10
420 lbs - booyah

Cardio 8 minutes

***I am just so freakin excited how well i'm doing. My 300 squat is just slightly out of reach now. Sure i could do a $hit-ton more parallel but its too easy for me...doing them deep has built my strength ridiculously so. And my legs are just friggin solid haha i can't say the same about my gut though.

I miss the 4 pack i had in October/november - but cutting is easy. But When to do it is the question. I've been bulking since Nov. 1st and I'm seeing tremondous gains - Is now the time? I wish i looked more ripped haha

i think maybe at the end of this month I will - opinions? :(

Why is your deadlift so much higher than your squat

That's the way it is for me too, I think it is a hamstring issue for me. That is being corrected...

Stallion, look for "fat loss whilst still gaining muscle" by Warboss in the vault. You should still be able to gain strength whilst losing fat, and gain a bit of muscle.

Also, I reckon you'd get 300x1 on squats right now if you tried.

Anyway good workout, keep it up

Pretty crazy, when I was squatting 3 x 5 @ 265 I was only deadlifting 1 x 5 @ 315

Different numbers for different people. Different strengths/weaknesses, differences in limb length/torso length etc. All of these contribute. Old injuries, inflexibility, etc...

I could leg press 140kgx20 and dead over 150kg+ for reps yet I was struggling with 100kg for reps on squats. I think hamstrings are/were the culprit. Doing GHR's seems to be correcting the issue and my squat is going up again, so we shall see if that was/is the only problem.

lol

When I was squatting 2x5 @ 320 I was only deadlifting 1x5 @ 315

I would have made 2x5 at 315 on deads but my training cycle got cut short.
