This conversation may need around 15 more pages. But we must not confuse the context and thesis of the thread, "most people are good."
The thesis implies that majority of people aren't trying to steal, corrupt, or destroy your life, majorityyy but not all. I can't really give a percentage, but let's say that 70% of people are good, and 30% of people in the world are trying to steal, corrupt, destroy.
One of the problems we have here guys, is that the 30% of people who are "bad" in this sense, contain what is known as "leader characteristics" or "mass influence characteristics," and a number of the 70% of "good" people tend be be brainwashed or can be lead astray.
In this sense, WHILE JoeKerr is right about majority of people (70%) are good, he can also be incorrect due a high percentage of the 70% being easily brainwashed, influenced, and lead astray by the 30%.
Take a look at situations in the world or even from some books. Let's say majority of the 70% are sheeps, majority of the 30% are wolfs. A number of the sheep all FOLLOW the 1 WOLF!! In this situation, we don't NEED majority of the people to be "bad" because that 1 WOLF HAS ENOUGH INFLUENCE.
This is the problem, the "bad" people typically influence a high percentage of the "good" people, and in trying to "do good for themselves and their families" many times "good" people BECOME like the wolves.

We can sum up that majority of sales people are good correct, let's say 70% aren't trying to rip you off. But what about the 30%?
Most times, it's the 30% of sales people who OWN the companies or MANAGE the companies, influencing their sales forces to use embedded "manipulation tactics" to make customers buy things they don't need and what actually leaves them worse off then they were. Many of the sales people don't even realize they are doing this, they are just "following the script" of their managers, who are just following the "script" of the owners.
So in this case, you might have 4 owners of a company of 200 sales people. Those 200 sales people are for the fact of the matter "good," but it's those 4 owners that have MADE them bad through INFLUENCE.
