About "teasing and bullying"...
Someone mentioned an incident in either junior high or high school where Cho refused to read outloud. The TEACHER threatened him with an F if he didn't read...and some of the kids in the class reacted by laughing at him. That was the fault of the teacher...she set the stage for that to happen.
The other instance was from grade school...he got pushed down on the playground...just like every other kid on the planet. Classmates said that he did not get picked on or teased above and beyond what every other kid is picked on or teased.
This is NOT a case of some shy kid who was tormented and tortured throughout life by other people. It's mental illness...and by the sounds of it, from a very young age. If it was Asperger's or another form of high functioning autism it would have been essentially from birth. As horrible as what this guy did is...he clearly was delusional and psychotic...and he didn't have a normal mental capacity. The only thing you can do about someone like Cho is not let him fall through the cracks. Many people allowed that to happen and did not do their job for whatever reason. In some ways I think it's easier to forgive someone who is criminally insane and knows not what they do than it is to forgive the multiple people who were too lazy or couldn't be bothered to put in a little extra work to prevent him from someday snapping and becoming so dangerous.
