well, he's 5'11 245pds and said he once did a 90pds biceps curl. I'll just ask him why he doesn't let me do the big compound exercises.
dude, lots of people can do a 90lbs bicep curl.

he may however be just following gym policy of not recommending compounds for the safety factor (insurance etc) even though he may not agree with it (if he is a serious lifter). you can ask him this straight out, most trainers are honest about it.

in any case he has prescribed to you catabolic aerobics, whether they're of his design or not.

go with the routines in Where To Start or stronglifts.com

the body will produce less blood cholesterol to balance out a higher dietary cholesterol intake, correct.
I know, but I know some 'don't believe till I see the research' type people who I would like to show the data to.

why care about them?

do this: take in 12-36 eggs/day for six months. take cholesterol readings before and after. keep all other variables the same.

I guarantee that unless you have some sort of genetic tendency for high cholesterol, the readings will be the same OR it will be lower in the 'after' reading

I dont know what you want to ask him, but those movements arnt going to do much for you.

If you're looking for size/strength, id focus on compound lifts. You can do the other stuff if you're looking to finish up a muscle group or something after you get the necessary things done.

Basically, focus on these:

Squats (full)
Deadlifts (conventional or sumo)
Stiff legged deadlift
Barbell/dumbbell rows
Dips (weighted if possible)
Military press (barbell or dumbbells)
Chin ups (weighted if possible)
Bench press
Good mornings
etc...

Of course you can add secondary movements, but id get the compound ones done 1st.

As for the diet, listen to warboss. You're going to have to EAT.

I personally had to eat in excess of 5K calories a day when I was trying to pack on size. If you're metabolism is faster, you're going to have to eat up. Ive seen people have to eat 6K, even 7K+ calories a day to gain.

Well, I don't care about them so much that I'm willing to cut my egg consumption below 12 eggs a day.

the body will find an equilibrium between its own and dietary cholesterol. agricultural carbs are more responsible for poor cholesterol levels than eggs/fat.
Even whole gain carbs like oatmeal and whole wheat?

whole grains are still grains so yeah. they may be advertised to reduce cholesterol levels but that's only when the previous diet was sh!tty.

there's nothing magic about whole/grains. they are in fact, the worst of the carbs.

Really?

I never knew they were "that" bad.

Going from the best carbs to the worst, it ranks like this:

Vegetables/fruit, potatoes/sweet potatoes, rice, grains (bread, cereal, pasta).

Carb intolerant people should never be eating grains really. i.e. fatasses.

How did you rank those foods? Because, on the glycemic index charts, potatoes and even some fruits are higher than some grains.

Is there any dangers to consuming too much fructose besides offsetting the caloric balance? I read from one source that it does not require insulin. However, this source says otherwise:
" It is important to note that while fructose does have a low glycemic rating, it can still induce insulin resistance, increase triglycerides, and promote fat storage."
