This happened in the 8th grade, it's embarrassing how bad I was.
I had a huge crush on this girl Denise. She was just amazing. I had dreams about her at night. There's a pop song called "Calendar Girl" that I heard at the time, and its forever been linked in my mind with her. She was my calendar girl
She was smart, had a nice personality, and was really cute (HB 7.5). But she flirted with ALOT of guys. I had personality and could make her laugh, but I always thought she was out of my league.
I teased her a little about her cheerleader initiation one day. The new recruits had to wear signs around their neck, colors on their faces...I said,..."wow, looking great today." Not bad for 8th grade C&F, but I mostly ignored her, thinking what chance could I have. She laughed and played along.
I kept ignoring her, and her interest kept building! Typical woman. She'd sit by me in the auditorium and ask how things were, and I'd be like...ahhh...whatever. She was sick one day, and she wanted me to feel her cheeks and forehead. I did, and was like...ok.
We had a math class together. We sat next to each other and play flirted (as much as 8th graders do).......and eventually one day it all cumulated. After talking for a while outside of class, she asked if she could kiss me on the cheek! I thought she was kidding, and said no.
After that, she got the hint and we never flirted again like we did.....uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
You know things are embarrassing when other people have more faith in you, than you have in yourself. In another class, a cute girl complimented me on my eye color and asked how many girlfriends I had had in the past. She thought two or three. I said yeah about that...(of course it was zero).
The life of an AFC 8th grader.......
