It doesnt matter if long hair used to be accepted in some old civilization, becuase in our civilization now, long hair is a classic turn off. wither or not long hair is accepted in some other civilization is irrelevent. A good looking, decent guy in the Army should have no problem with attracive girls, so should a good looking, decent guy with long hair.

For a while, every romance novel had a long-haired, muscular man on the cover. When Hollywood wants to portray an ancient hero, more often than not they go with long hair. Hell, Samson had long hair, and look where a buzzcut got him. Point is, for a very long time masculinity and long hair have been closely aligned.
