false assumptions
What can she possibly see in him? It must be the cash, and judging by her looks, he must have a lot it. This is probably the very first thought that goes through most G-men's minds.

This assumption cannot be further from the truth. True, having financial stability does help a man find a beautiful woman, but this is not the most important aspect. It's the combination of several traits that will help a man find the woman of his dreams.

As long as men keep reasoning that beautiful women date ugly or regular-looking men for their money, they will always miss out on opportunities to meet gorgeous women. Like my father used to say, "Son, assumptions are the mother of all screw ups. Never assume anything with women -- unless it's an acrobatic position."
That won't fly too well here.

I think the explanation is alot simpler then that, in which I ironically saw it while browsing on another site:

http://www.wwtdd.com/2009/06/anna-faris-is-easily-impressed/

Anna Faris is really really hot and really really funny, and yet what you’re looking at in these pictures is her with her new husband after they eloped in Hawaii this weekend. I think the lesson to be learned is, if you see a girl you think is hot, ask her out.

Just go for it man. Because girls are fvckin weird. They will absolutely have sex with guys who aren’t even remotely in their league. Much of my sex life has depended on that. The rest has been based on pity and rags soaked in ether.
Its not to hard to understand, it all comes down to balls.

FVCK that article!!!

That is the biggest crock of sh1t I have read in a long time. Hot girls are with ugly guys because they want to have something to fall back on AFTER they are done getting fvcked by hot, mean guys like me that they really want, but can't have.

The ugly guy gets to say he has a girlfriend and introduce her to his parents and gives her all types of gifts and emotional support, but knows on the inside that her vag1na is getting stretched out by someone else when she says she is "going out" with her friends. Does he dump her? Nooooo-- why do that when it looks like you have a hot girlfriend. He was never anything she wanted, but he worships her day and night. Now what girl in her right mind would give that up?

Here is the real dirty little secret: Chics are all about self esteem, sometimes they date average men because they will never have to worry about the guy ever hooking up with a hot girl because he has no game anyways. "Sure, boyfriend, you can go out with your friends tonight! I won't be jealous at all" -- because...she really won't be.

For the other players reading this who know whats really going on, do you not target those couples because you just know that she wants you to nail her? Of course you do. I do. It works every fvcking time. Its not like her pipsqueak boyfriend was going to do anything anyways.

Ah yes, but lets have a look at (a much younger) Anna Faris' first husband, Ben Indra:

Now lets compare him to her new husband Chriss Pratt. Still an actor with a good chunk of change and at one point much better looking than he is today.

Now I am starting to feel really bad dudes....

You see, I don't see this guy as being "leagues below" this woman.

He is tall, chubby but well built and his features are handsome.

She has a pretty face, but her body is nothing special. Good, but not great....

Sorry, I just don't get how this guy is not enough for this woman....

If he loses a few pounds, I rate him above her to be honest....

This is actually a good point. A woman could pick a man who has other qualities she finds attractive but who isn't the handsomest man in the world so that she won't have to constantly worry about him fvcking other women.

♫♫♫ If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life,
Never make a pretty woman your wife.
So from my personal point of view,
Get an ugly girl to marry you. ♫ ♫ ♫

That's how I see it too. The guy isn't bad looking especially in the face where I think women focus the most on for relationships .. And she's not all that hot.

To be honest I don't see hot girl's with ugly guys really. I've seen hot girls with guys that I thought were no better than average, but they always have something to make up the difference, above average "personality", money, overblown persona, or something. Sure, you don't have to be obviously physically good looking to get a hot girl, but that's not saying you can be ugly. As guys we're good at judging physical attractiveness and women and to a lesser extent in othermen, but that's not the same thing as overall apearance. Women focus on appearance cues that would not matter to a man.

Yeah, but the point is, regardless of having been with 2 other good looking guys, she still chose a below avg.-looking one this time around. If this woman was "about the looks", she'd have been consistent in dating only good-looking guys, and that's obviously not the case with this current boyfriend.

Of course, but I see for myself hot women coupled with below avg.-looking guys. I see it A LOT. So much so, that it's actually refreshing when I see a hot woman coupled with a good-looking guy.

I don't want guys here to read me the wrong way, I'm very happy all these below avg-looking guys can pull all these hotties out there...the thing that frustrates me though to an endless degree, is the fact that I'm an above avg.-looking guy(been told countless times by men and women alike), yet it's a struggle for me to bed a hot woman. By theory, I should be pulling hotties every weekend, but that is miles far far from the case, which is why I now know that your good-looks as a guy doesn't mean squat. Most attractive women aren't phased by it.

This is like asking the fvcking Taliban to do an expose on Islam. Askmen IS EDITED BY WOMEN. This is like reading an article in Cosmo. Its mainline media.

Give me a break.

I was expected this dude to be a grungy dungeons and dragons geek. There is NO WAY Anna Faris is "out of his league." The media just likes to fixate on superficially mismatched couples.

If a girl is over the age of 20, looks are going to be relatively far down the list of qualifications. Perceived status is going to be at the top. Alpha-ness is going to be up there, as well. These are traits that have very little to do with looks 90% of the time.

Lots of pretty boys have trouble keeping girls because they never learned how to approach; they are used to girls gaming THEM. Problem is, you really won't find desirable girls that way. Desirable girls KNOW they are in demand and require you to man up and ACT.

If you meet a baseline of "decent looking," you're good enough looking for the majority of women out there, provided you make up for your shortcomings in other ways. You're ultimately going to be judged on what you bring to the table in other ways--i.e. how you make her FEEL, how you react to things, how others perceive you. Being good looking just means you don't have to compensate as much.

Yes, money often goes hand in hand with status, but not necessarily. Status can be as simple as being popular in your social circle; to a girl in that circle, you are effectively "high status."

Stop buying the nonsense that mens grooming products such as Axe have been selling.

If Jack Nicholson went broke tomorrow, he'd still be able to get twentysomething girls. Because he's Jack Nicholson. End the vanity and become your own BRAND.

Askmen might be edited by women(if you say so), but the responses to the article way down at the bottom have nothing to do with the editing. Those responses are from hot women who have nothing to do with Askmen. Those responses speak for themselves.

Many of the hot women who responded to the article way down below, in a nutshell, say they choose ugly guys, because they give them the world and shower them with love. What sites like this preach against, but hey, it's obviously working for those guys. You're hearing it straight from the horses mouth, the hot women themselves who are with them.

Yup. Like I've said before, in high school, I had no trouble attracting hot girls, all I had to do was be good-looking and they flocked to me. Needed no game, nothing, literally. Once I graduated high school, I was in for a rude, rude awakening, and it wasn't pretty. It had me totally confused, because all I remembered my whole life was that "all I had to do was be a good-looking guy and the ladies will come". A females attraction stimulator changes dramatically once she reaches the college yrs. I did not get laid by one college girl in college. And it's depicted out there that that's when the females are to be most had. Yeah right.

Bullsh!t.

Cross-culturally, there is considerable agreement in the judgment of beauty among East Asians, Hispanics, and Americans; Brazilians, Americans, Russians, the Aché of Paraguay, and the Hiwi of Venezuela; Cruzans and Americans in Saint Croix; white South Africans and Americans; and the Chinese, Indians, and the English. In none of these studies does the degree of exposure to the western media have any influence on people’s perception of beauty. How is it possible for people from such diverse cultures to agree broadly on who is beautiful and who is not?

It appears that people from different cultures share the same standards of beauty because they are innate;...

... newborn babies less than one week old show significantly greater preference for faces that adults judge to be attractive...

There are three main features that characterize beautiful faces: the geometric feature of bilateral symmetry, the mathematical feature of averageness, and the biological feature of secondary sexual characteristics. They all indicate genetic and developmental health of beautiful people.

Bilateral symmetry. Attractive faces are more symmetrical than unattractive faces. Bilateral symmetry (the extent to which the facial features on the left and the right sides are identical) decreases with exposure to parasites, pathogens, and toxins during development, and with genetic disruptions such as mutations and inbreeding. Developmentally and genetically healthier individuals have greater symmetry in their facial and bodily features, and are thus more attractive.
For this reason, across societies, there is a positive correlation between parasites and pathogen prevalence in the environment and the importance placed on physical attractiveness in mate selection; people place more importance on physical attractiveness when there are more pathogens and parasites in their local environment. This is because in societies where there are a lot of pathogens and parasites in the environment, it is especially important to avoid individuals who have been afflicted with them when selecting mates.

Averageness. Facial averageness is another feature that increases physical attractiveness; faces with features closer to the population average are more attractive than those with extreme features. In the memorable words of Judith H. Langlois of the University of Texas, who originally discovered that the standards of beauty might be innate, “attractive faces are only average.” Evolutionary psychological reasons for why average faces in the population are more attractive than extreme faces are not as clear as the reasons for why bilateral symmetry is attractive. Current speculation is that facial averageness results from the heterogeneity rather than the homogeneity of genes. Individuals who have two different copies (or alleles) of a gene are more resistant to a larger number of parasites, less likely to have two copies of deleterious genes, and at the same time more likely to have statistically more average faces with less extreme features. If this speculation is correct, it means that, just like bilateral symmetry, facial averageness is an indicator of genetic health and parasite resistance.

Secondary sexual characteristics. Unlike the geometric concept of bilateral symmetry and the mathematical concept of averageness, the biological concept of secondary sexual characteristics differ for the sexes. For men, features that are considered to be attractive are indicators of high levels testosterone (such as large jaws and prominent brow ridges). For women, features that are considered to be attractive are indicators of high levels of estrogen (such as large eyes, fuller lips, larger foreheads, and smaller chins). This is probably why women instinctively tilt their head forward and look up (making their eyes and forehead look larger than they are and their chin smaller than it is) when they want to appear attractive. (Think of the way Princess Diana was typically photographed). Similarly, men instinctively tilt their head back (making their jaw appear larger than it is and their brow ridge more prominent than it is) when they want to look attractive. For both sexes, faces that typify higher levels of sex-typical hormones are considered to be attractive.
