nice lifts studmuffin15 and college man...as a former powerlifter and bench presser (and A.D.F.P.A. judge) i know that these lifts are entirely possible...there is a lot more to the b/p than just moving the weight up and down...there's a lot of technique and science involved...my best is 515 @ 220 pound weight class...drug free

Isn't it amazing? Every time this thread is started, we find that all our random posters happen to bench twice their weight and squat three times that!

MAGICAL!!!

No, buddy, it's magical that we suddenly have so many elite lifters as soon as threads like this get started.

That's why I didn't post mine. I just worry about my own game and focus on improvements to myself. But I would like to compare notes about your HIT program Soshyopathe. It seems we are doing a similar program.

Could I e-mail you a copy of my program and see what you think of it. I know everybody responds differently to training, but it seems you have been doing the one set to failure program longer than me (I've been doing it since July)

hey diesel:

i am so glad that all of ur so-called "experience" in working out and exercise has allowed u to dump people in a cookie-cutter model of how much someone should lift.

u have some kind of funky equations or something?

2(chest) * 4(triceps) / 17pi * 42 reps of abs = max. bench press

i kinda figured that if i posted my weights on here some insecure fukk would have to rip on it. why am i not surprised it is u? last time i checked, 4 45lbs on each side, or in ur terms:
4(45) = 180 per side
(180) * 2 sides = 360
+ 5lbs per side * 2 sides
= o shyt, 370!!!!!

just calling u out!
S

p.s.
for all the rest of the younger guys on here, just stick with ur workouts. when i was a h.s. sophomore i started working out and i was so damn weak and skinny i had a hard time lifting the bar! but i stuck with it and over the years i have really increased my strength dramatically. it helped a lot with sports and with my looks in general! keep up all the good work!

thats some impressive lifting! what type of training regimen did u use?? i am kinda seeing my plateau in this 370 area and my goal is to hit 400 before my youthful days are over!

right now, i do heavy and light cycles to train for sports.
for instance, for bench, i will do like 10-12 weeks HEAVY, like around 370 for 3-6 reps. then, for another 10-12 weeks, i will drop bench down to like 180-200 and rep 10-12.i alternate these cycles and find that each time i get a little bigger, much more cut, and stronger.

my legs are pretty much all squared away. i used to skate about 4 hours everyday growing up, so i attribute most of the strength in my legs to that. i still cant understand bcuz weight-wise, i cant see any logical reason why i should leg press so much. i see the big 300lb bruisers in the gym only get like 800 or 900. so i figure its just from skating all those years.

take care and good luck!

Well, the last time I checked, 4 plates on each side was 405, not 370. Yes, the bar itself weighs 45lbs. Amazing how an experienced (?) lifter like yourself dosent know that.

Maybe youre using those plastic weights??

If you can get 370 for 3-6 reps you should be able to get 400 for 1 rep.

That routine might work for you, but i think there are more effective ways to go about gaining muscle. So, if there are any newbies out there thinking about doing this routine, DONT. In order for a muscle to grow you must INCREASE the load you put on it, not decrease the load.

how the hell am i decreasing the load? did i go from 45-370 by decreasing? i got to this point precisely by consistently adding weight >> not subtracting it. so who the hell are you trying to kid with this advice?

You shouldve said, "machine bench max", dimwit. Or "hammer strength bench max", numnuts. Theres a difference. And who the hell does their max on machines anyway? You probably couldnt put up 200lbs on a REAL bench.

You said it right here, sally.

The light cycles are where youre decreasing your load. You should be doing AT LEAST 300lbs (if not more) for 10-12 reps EASY!
