I'm not insecure at all.. notice how I don't need to post my numbers. I know I'm way bigger than you, and can outlift the hell out of you.

However, the Hammer Bench IS NOT a real bench press. 370 lbs. on a hammer is a whole different animal than 370 on the flat bench.

An apt comparison is leg pressing 800 and actually squatting 800. A whole different animal.

I'll bet 225 on the flat bench will crush your chest.

D

p.s. Your training methods are garbage.
Do you just come up with this crap on your own? Please tell me where you got that workout from so I can avoid it like the plague.

#1) each person has different methods that work. for me, this has worked wonderfully over the years. during the hockey season, it makes absolutely NO sense to go that heavy. it just beats the shyt out of ur body. this is where i cycle down. and to make up for it, i vary my rest breaks, rep amts., etc. to challenge my muscles in different ways.

2.) the original question didnt state what kind of exercise, numnuts. he asked for bench, i posted bench. u r the dycks who draw the conclusions.

3.) i also love how all u guys bet this and that, how i cant do this and cant do that. why is all this challenging going on? why does everyone on here have to antagonize and ridicule all the time???? cant we ever have a nice topic where people dont rip on others?

some people are forced to work the hammer machine as opposed to the regular bar after injuries. u know, like separated shoulders and shyt. some things arent the same after injuries and much of my mobility isnt. especially with over-the-head lifts>>> see military press which u were so quick to criticize.

to compensate for the hammer bench, i use dumbbells for inclines.

but again, my theories all all wrong. u and viroid, 2 people that have never met me, nor who know my capabilites and what i can cannot do, just sit here and bust nuts like little mister lou ferrignos.

tell u what, i figured u were a nut from that time u went on and on about making all kinds of homemade supplement concoctions bcuz this supplement and that supplement from the stores were no good for this reason or that reason.but i still respected u anyway. but now, i see it is different. u really are a meathead.

u can outlift the hell out of me? i dont doubt it and really dont care. btw, who's insecure now, u little bytch??? my life is comprised of more worldly things than the 4 corners of a gym and homemade sauce shakes.

there are plenty of people like u at my gym. all the steroid head fukks who grunt and groan and pose their puzzies in the mirrors between sets bcuz they arent capable of anything more than carrying kegs of air under their armpits.
and then they go out to clubs with their cheap azz armani shirts and mister-t starter sets and get fukked up by real men.

get in contact with viroid. maybe he can shave ur arms, legs, and balls next time u grow some stubble. shrunken nuts.

who's the stereotypical dyckhead now?

You take offense to us calling you out. You take offense to the truth, so you try take the moral high road by calling us idiots.

Graduate and make Law Review from a top 20 law school before you come to me with the intellectual put-downs.

By the way numbnuts, not only am I in law school but I'm also getting my MBA in Finance from a top 25 Business school as well.

Maybe I should lend you one of my Finance textbooks. Nah, maybe I'll really flip your lid and throw the Internal Revenue Code your way.... do you think you pee-brain can handle that?

Damn, it's gotta hurt when you've just met someone who's not only a better athlete than you but can also run rings around you intellectually.

Go home and learn little boy. Come back when you're a man. *****.

D

btw.. finance is by its very nature quantitative. i.e. it deals with streams of income as applied to time and interest ..the element that differentiates finance from traditional economic analysis....

Were you trying to sound smart back there?? Keep trying.

You shouldn't cry about injuries. Just rehabilitate you shoulder, and get back to the real excersizes.

studmuffin, You should've just said it was 370 on the hammerstrength a long time ago. It would've saved you a whole lot of arguing. What you can do on the hammer strength isn't the same thing you can do on the flat bench. If you don't believe me, try 225 on the flat bench and then try it on the hammer strength. The hammer strength one will be ALOT easier.

funny....notice who feels the need to rip. to whom did i feel the need to criticize their strength or lack of strength? thats right, not one. u know y? bcuz i respect others.

i dont have the need to start shyt to make myself look good. if somebody wants to lie, fine let them lie. my ego doesnt require me to take that step and point them out if i ASSUME them to be lying(unlike others). total lack of tact and courtesy on all ur parts. go back and look that the chronological order of responses. congrats for turning what was intended to be just a topic of curiosity into one of finger pointing and one-upmanship.

misunderstood:

i have been lifting nonstop for the past 10 years (except for my injury). u have said nothing but old news. no shyt the hammer is easier. i dont do it by choice. i do it bcuz i have to. besdies that, i was still around 330 on the regular bench. so there..news flash.

and its interesting how those who are supposedly the most "in the know" really show themselves to be the least informed.

soshyopathe: u show ur ignorance with ur latest comment. i pity ur lack of intelligence if u believe that the human body is some type of machine who's parts can just be replaced without difficulty. i am sure terrell davis would appreciate ur take on "just rehabbing" injuries. or any of the other athletes that have had careers ruined. but ur right, i guess they're all puzzies too.

it seems to me that you've never had a serious injury. if u have and were lucky enough to rehab to 100% perfect, thank ur stars. u r one of the few. however, i think u should keep ur mouth shut when it comes to rehabbing bcuz u dont know me, u never met me, and ur extent of knowledge about me will never be greater than it is now. so play good doctor with someone else.

diesel:

just callin 'em like i see 'em. and you've said enough stupid shyt on these boards, and lashed out at enough people with meathead, no-patience responses, to warrant my beliefs. i cant even count the number of times u've busted on people in here like ur the shyt and ur the ultimate fitness guru. i will share a lesson with u that i was taught very young: no matter how good u think u are, there's always somebody better then u.

judging from ur attitude and approach to others on this board, i highly doubt that a top 25 b-school would allow u entrance. dare i call u a liar! heavens no. but from my own experience with b-schools, they are pretty good on picking up on those faking professionalism. and ur disregard for others' respect doesnt exemplify professionalism in my opinion.

but then again, maybe thats what separates us and puts u in the top 25, and myself in one of the top 3. keep studying and maybe a real school will throw u a bone. till then, keep on saucin!

i've said my thoughts and now i am off. from what i am seeing, many of u may possibly have some *deeper* social problems that may be affecting u with girls which brings u to this site. u have my sympathies and condolences. now, i have more important things to pursue. too bad all the understanding and compassionate people who were members here when i joined are long gone.

You have a point, but IMO i think you are going at it the wrong way. There are ways to continue training heavy during the season and not 'beat the **** out of your body.' Maybe its time for a more effective approach?

Theres a difference, muffstud. If someone asked me how much I squat, im NOT GOING TO GIVE HIM MY HACK SQUAT MAX!

Because we are all dyckheads.

How long ago did you separate it? What are you doing to rehab it? And are you taking any supps?

He didnt mean they are no good. He meant its a hell of a lot cheaper to buy in powder form. Check out: Kilosports.com

Wow, its amazing how much you can 'see' by just a few people calling BS on you. Whos drawing conclusions now, hypocrite.

Hmmmmm, a "how much can you lift" thread turns into an ego flame war, I never saw it coming!

Now there is no way to prove these lifts, but I'm an honest dude and lying about would be pointless here goes:

DL 500@179 the judge red lighted me, because the bar's movement stopped momentarly, but in my eyes i got it up

BP 270@179 That is competition style, with a pause. 300 gym lift

Squat 390@198 never did this in competion, just gym

Everything else I don't worry about, I focus on the big three and do assistance exercises for them.

As far as a magical routine that will pack up the pounds, there is none. Just work your ass off when you are in the gym, and changes you routine from time to time.

If I need to lift it I can lift it. I dont lift weights often but I did like 260 pounds 10 times on a bench.

I tend to do more physical stuff, I did lift a Grainery floor off a truck and that had to weight around a 1000 pounds. Course I nearly gave myself a hernia doing it too
