The Lady and the Tramp…..
Why you develop oneitis.
While doing our weekly review, GH mentioned that he was going home for the holidays in Massachusetts. He said that he wasn’t looking to seeing his past girlfriend since he still has feelings for her. He asked me why we develop “oneitis.”
Let me share with you the story as I heard from my Grand Master, it goes something like this:
There was this very beautiful young woman named Bella. She was the daughter of a poor day laborer and she had three sisters and two brothers. Her family barely made it, with the help of her local church and charity of family friends.
She ended up being married to the richest and most powerful man in her country. Most people would say that she sold her soul to the Devil and what not, but this is what happened.
Bella had had slept with three young men in her town and had a reputation of being an easy girl. Well, the rumor got around and Bella’s life became a shame for her and her family.
Bella got a job working as a maid at the local country club, there one day the youngest boy of one of the wealthiest families almost drowned. Luckily for the kid, Bella was there and was able to save him, the life guard was busy saving some old hag when the kid fell into the deep part of the pool.
The kid’s mother had Bella brought to her; the Lady wanted to thank Bella for saving her son. Once the Lady met Bella, she asked what she could do for Bella, in gratitude for saving her son. Bella replied that she didn’t do anything out of the ordinary and that the Lady didn’t need to reward her.
Well the Lady said to Bella: “I have heard difficult things about you, but in my gratitude I will share with you a priceless family secret. This secret is only passed down the female family line, and I will share it with you, but only if you accept the risk of knowing it. For the secret can be a curse or a blessing, depending in your nature. If you use it wisely, you will live content and from time to time very happy. If you use it unwisely, you will grow old, lonely and bitter.”
“Would you like to know it and do you accept the consequences for what ever happens to you once you know it?”
“Yes,” replied Bella.
The Lady went on to tell Bella this:
A lady must love in silence.
Why, asked Bella, she didn’t understand.
Because, said the Lady, Man is a hunter, provider and protector.
A lady must turn man’s true nature against himself, in order to keep him.
What it means? asked Bella; can you give me an example, she pleaded.
The Lady replied: “Bella, a man must never know he has won your love completely. For he is a hunter; and a hunter once it knows it has caught its prey, loses interest.”
“Second, never tell a man you are fulfilled, for he is a provider, he must always feel the need to provide for you.”
“Third, always show him admiration, for he is a protector and always in competition with his friends.”
“With your beauty you will attract them, but with the secret I have told you, no man will escape your charms, except for one. All men that will know you; will claim you are the ‘One.’”
“If they shared your bed and you have no use for them, they will always want to return to you, for they will never find anyone like you; for you are the one that have turned their true nature against them. Their uncertainty about you is your friend, and your indifference, your most powerful weapon.”
That is how a Tramp became a queen; and you infected with oneitis. Women use your true nature against you.
