Ignorance. Breeding Ground of Evil……….
I have been taken it easy with GH after his encounter with the fire dragon Sylvia.
I had him come over for supper, and we took time after the meal to review his progress. I have to tell you, GH does not lack confidence, he may be shy but he is pretty certain of his abilities to an extent. He is ambitious and driven, also, persistent.
As we got talking, he apologized for not following my advise in reference with his little incident, and that he was aware of the “seriousness of the matter.”
I understand GH; I would chuck this slip to youth. I noticed something in GH that I have hardly noticed on most human beings: humility. This humility, at his young age, tells me he will become a great man.
He asked me if what he did to Sylvia was an evil act? I replied that I didn’t know what exactly transpired between them, but how would he feel if she did to him what he did to her? He replied that he would feel like zhit. I don’t know if it would qualify as evil, since there was no malice and she agree to share herself with him out of her own volition, but I leave that to the moralists.
I would like to share with you once of the most enlightening concepts I use in my daily life; I did not think of the concept, I read it while traveling in South America, it was written on one of those raggedy local newspapers. The idea goes like this:
There are four types of people:
The Victim
The Bad
The Idiot
The Smart
The Victim: The victim usually always loses, and most likely, it is always out of ignorance. They usually don’t know any better and they get taken advantage of.
The Bad: The bad know something about the world and they always see to take advantage of everyone for their own personal gain; even harming others out of malice, just for the sake of injuring others without reason.
The Idiot: The idiot always harms himself and others, they are not even aware that they are injuring themselves and others. These are the most dangerous type of people, because they could have the best intentions in the Universe, yet they are not aware that they are committing harm or injury. No one wins with these types of people, avoid them at all cost, if you don’t, you will always risk injury to your well being.
The Smart: The smart always wins for himself and others. They are aware of the ignorance of the Victim, the malice of the Bad and the stupidity of the Idiot. The Smart becomes prudent and learns to deal with each of the other three types.
The thing about this concept is that it makes it obvious that all of us are always playing one of those types. In every situation in my life, I ask, which of the above types I am playing at that particular time.
For example, if I don’t know anything about the situation I am heading or about to be engaged in, I know the provability of me ending a Victim is very high.
If I know that I can clearly take advantage of someone to their own detriment, I know I am being Bad.
If I have no clue what I am doing, and think that what I am doing is best for someone else, I know I am being a total Idiot.
If I know what I am doing and can clearly see someone may benefit from my actions, I know I am being smart.
With this concept and knowledge of the Truth or fundamental principles, I have had incredible success in my life. I hope it helps you the same way. For ignorance lets the Bad commit the most heinous acts and Enlightenment lets the Smart share existence in peace with the others.
