I actually made the same prediction....but the truth is, I'm not so sure if Trump WON, but rather, Hillary LOST.I made several comments on this forum this year that Trump had no chance of winning and that it was a foregone conclusion that Clinton would win the presidency. I wanted to post this thread to acknowledge how wrong I was.
When I was growing up, we viewed western culture as the best in the world and something to be proud of. Over the years, that pride has eroded and we were told that western culture was something we should be ashamed of, and that we needed to give it up to make way for the muslims, the feminists, the globalists, and everyone else who wanted in. Obviously there has been some blowback from all that, and you don't have to look any further than this forum to see it.Something very interesting is taking place. And it's happening across the Western world.
A complete rejection of globalism, so-called 'diversity', and feminism.
See above.I actually made the same prediction....but the truth is, I'm not so sure if Trump WON, but rather, Hillary LOST.
- Let's look at the 2008 Race and the 2012 Race. As you can see, both Mccain and Romney got about 60 million total votes. This time around, Trump is going to end up with again, around 60 million votes once everything finalizes and comes in. So basically Trump got the SAME amount of total votes as Romney and Mccain.
Yes, on total popular votes. But Trump was able to win some "blue" states, so he outperformed on the electoral map.
Even Paul Ryan admitted something to the effect of Trump pulling off an "incredible political feat."
Could any other Republican have pulled that off? I doubt it.
- Obama got 69 million votes in 2008 and 66 million votes in 2012, but Hillary is going to end up around 60 million this time around. This means that 6 - 9 million people did NOT come out for Hillary this time like they did for Obama the two previous cycles.
- Do you want to guess who those 6 - 9 million were? That's right....they were a good chunk of the minorities but mainly the Millennials. The Millennials were the group that put Obama over the amounts needed to win in 2008 and 2012, without the Millennials there would not have been a President Obama....period.
The Millennials were 100% for Bernie Sanders. He had the energy, the excitement, the large crowds, etc., etc. Sanders also represented a liberal's DREAM in terms of everything he wanted to get done. But he caught on FIRE too late....by the time he caught on fire, Hillary was already too far ahead with a gang of Super-Delegates for him to catch her.
The super delegates will almost always go for the establishment candidate. That's the whole point of them. Even if Bernie started earlier, he still wouldn't have got the super delegates.
What Hillary's "establishment a.ss" should have done....was put Sanders on her VP Ticket and her and Sanders TOURED the entire country (like Trump did) doing rally after rally after rally. If Hillary's "establishment a.ss" would have done that....Trump wouldn't stand a chance.
No doubt that a Hillary/Bernie ticket would have been much more competitive. But Hillary chose Kane instead of Bernie because of TPP. She wanted a pro-TPP VP.
The demographics nationally are such that NO REPUBLICAN should win the White House. The only way a Republican wins is if the Democrat's voters DO NOT turn out. And that's exactly what happened with Hillary.
Trump didn't win........Hillary lost.
Yes, but you have to take a look at the final vote tallies in the battleground states. Look at how extremely close the final tallies are, in my state of Michigan (which they still haven't called BTW) it's like 12,000 votes separating them.Yes, on total popular votes. But Trump was able to win some "blue" states, so he outperformed on the electoral map.

I don't know, remember Obama took the super delegates from her in 2008. They usually will go to the person who legitimately won in the primaries in terms of total votes. Sanders didn't win in terms of total votes from the voters. He caught on fire too late. Obama was on fire in 2008 out of the gate, by winning Iowa. Sanders didn't start to catch on fire until later. The super delegates will almost always go for the establishment candidate. That's the whole point of them. Even if Bernie started earlier, he still wouldn't have got the super delegates.
I just don't think Hillary likes Sanders. Remember the tape of Hillary talking shyt about Sanders supporters being broke, lazy, losers living in their mother's basement? No doubt that a Hillary/Bernie ticket would have been much more competitive. But Hillary chose Kane instead of Bernie because of TPP. She wanted a pro-TPP VP.
Yes, now can you IMAGINE if people on the Right did the same thing after Obama was elected in 2008 or re-elected in 2012? They would have been crying racism every 5 minutes, Van Jones would be on CNN talking about "white flash", and various others would be talking about how "disappointed" they are in the country for hating a black man. It's amazing to see people protesting the election results, I'm not sure if I've ever seen that before. Remember all the flak the left threw up over the suggestion that Trump might not accept the election results? Apparently they are not capable of doing it themselves. They call for a united America after the election, but aren't willing to participate.
I'm not sure that I agree. I think Bernie's appeal is mostly limited to the younger crowd, who don't understand that there just really aren't enough rich people to tax in order to make everything free. Hence Hillary's (quite accurate) comment about his supporters living in their parents' basements. Many of these kids truly have no idea how economics works or where money really comes from. This doesn't make them bad people at all, just uninformed. I think they had/have tremendous passion for him and his positions, but as they age they will come to understand that much of what he promised is unrealistic.I'm actually not surprised Hillary lost. I am surprised that Trump is president. Seems comical that he went from 'You're fired' to the president. If she were to have won, that really would have proven that Politics can be bought.
Honestly, if it were Bernie vs Trump, I really do think Bernie would have won. But he sold out unfortunately...
