Best post I have ever read. WOW
Seriously man, I've been dreaming of the day to graduate highschool(class of 07 ) and get out there and travel, meet people, EXPLORE!!! LIVE
I'm reading a book called On The Road, basically about a guy going on a cross country trip across america looking for himself and meeting people and experiencing things along the way. This is originally why I rented the book anyways.
Point is, My english teacher saw I was reading it. And what she said really struck a chord.
She told me that shes happy that I'm reading the book, that soo many kids go to a college in the area or in state and come home after 4 years.... and thats it.. They get a job in the area and stay around here and live. And she said that is depressing. She goes.. "what I'm trying to say is.. Your young, Go out, Explore, Meet people, Your best days are the summers in between college and after. What this book is trying to tell you is Get the **** out of Dodge. Ya know!" -english teacher.
I realized I don't want to be what so many others my age or older are doing. Living in Illinois or in this area. I want to get out and explore, I want to meet people, I travel in a plane and I just want to stop whereever we are so I can get out and experience something new. I hate being trapped in this town with the same people. It's just not for me.
I have a list of a few things I want to do before I'm 30. A couple examples.
I want to backpack europe, I also want to move to Florida and bartend on the coast somewhere for a few years and live it up down there. I want to be a sports agent, I got a lot of things to do!
I just got a question for fingers. How do you afford to go to all these places? Do you have any friends that travel with or do you go alone.
Thanks for the post. Really opened my eyes
