The same reasons why SOME younger women are attracted to older men are the SAME reasons that some younger men are attracted to older women.

It's just natural for younger women to prefer older men and vice-versa. Most all women prefer older men - the only difference is in how much older. About the only ones who prefer younger ones are old cougars with few options trying to recapture their youth.

The whole thing ain't so "cut and dried." It really all depends upon the individuals involved. If someone looks really good and is in great shape for their age, does it not make sense they would typically date younger people?

Likewise, if someone's let their appearance go, or is just plain azz-ugly, would they not be lucky to find someone who is their age who's interested?

For some people the numbers mean more than for others. In some cases there might be big-time mutual attraction between people of vastly different ages (say 20s and 40s), who don't even look odd as a couple, but one or both nix the possibility of a hookup, relationship, or other involvement due to social conventions ("what will _____ think?"), incongruent relationship needs, and/or many other reasons.

Bonhomme said it correct, it is an INDIVIDUAL choice. For most, they prefer someone their own age as opposed to someone way older. The women and men choosing older parters is not the norm, although it is way more common now.

Key word is choosing by the way, for anyone trying to bring up history.

i don't think it is wrong, but many people do. for many reasons.

I personally couldn't date someone more than 10 or so years older than me, especially since I look so young. Like Bonhomme said, a lot of it has to do with looks compatibility. Then again I am very open minded.

And yes, when I see a 50 year old with a 20 something (man or woman), I do think "gross". I guess that is sort of shallow, but most women would have the same reaction.

Well, I rejected her (for a relationship), she moved out of state to attend school partially because of it, now she is back in the state applying to go to uni in my city.
