We can't change that, we just need to work harder to weed out the low quality ones and search for the quality ones.

That being said, it doesn't justify sinking so low as to marry kids. To me, a kid is someone under the age of 18. We need to protect kids period. That is what being an adult is about. This 40 year old guy should be lynched.

Back on the subject of 16 year olds, I took care of a couple of customers at work today. If they were 18 I would be shocked....looked like high school seniors. They came back later in the day and brought their girlfriends who looked to be about the same age.

All I can say is WOW. Two little hotties. And one of them had a sassy, flirty personality, didn't seem to be intimidated by an older guy like me at all which is unusual. Not that I was flirting or anything, of course, but MAAAAN, if she were a couple of years older and the b/f wasn't around, I'd hit that in a second.

I don't quite understand why American society is so unaccepting of young women marrying mature men. With all the stupid irresponsible behavior of so many young men these days, wouldn't a more mature man be the perfect choice for a young woman (so long as he is not so mature that he might not live long enough to raise the children, which is nowhere near a problem in this case)?

Polish/Ukraine girl? Western Ukraine (Lviv) is more westernized than the central (Kyiv/Kiev) or especially the south (Odessa) or east (Donetsk). I could go on forever about Ukraine, but if you go DO NOT learn Ukrainian unless you are going to Lviv or the western section. Go with the Russian language. That is what people will speak everywhere else.

If he met her via an "agency" she is probably from a place like Nikolaev or Kherson. Good chance (if it is a scam) that she is actually a he who is writing the letters. Hors? Not really. In some parts of Ukraine things are REALLY bad for most. Add the fact that beating your gf/wife is not a big deal with the vodka problem and you get the idea. Haha, I caught the bug the first time I visited Poland! All it took was getting off the train.

Finding a way to get back, well that's the tough part. I thought teaching English might be fun. I do not need to make a ton of money, I just love the country, people, and women of course.

Something is wrong with society when people in their forties are seeing teenagers as prey. In other times a man would have a daughter or at least a niece at that age, a woman a son or nephew. First, no, it's not a uniform law at all. Get your facts straight please.

Second, this sort of thing was not only common not so long ago in human history but would have been looked upon as a lot more upright and honorable than having sex without benefit of marriage at any age, so your view of "values and morals" is formed by what people have told you is right.

I beleive in right and wrong as absolutes in some cases, but I don't see any such absolutes in this situation.
