It's black history month currently. Do we have a white history month? A brown or yellow history month? I really don't know to be truthful but I doubt it. And don't anyone call me a racist for saying it.

If you are a stand up guy, a true American, (no offense to you guys from other countries) and a good human being, it doesn't matter if you are the color of a zebra in my book.

The problem we all have is that we seperate each other by race and other groups. Until we all get over that, we'll remain divided.

Yep, I'm a white guy. Had four ancestors who fought in the revolutionary war. Every man in my family served in the military including myself. I'm proud of my family. Everyone was a stand up guy, true American and good human beings.

Not to say one should give up their identity, but we all must make an effort to become part of one culture in the USA. That's when progress will be made.

• Were freed
• Harriet Tubman and Fredrick Douglas were both important people

• Civil Rights

that's it. You don't learn about the Negro leagues or Jack Johnson in school. You dont' learn about Maya Angelou or W.E.B Deboius in school.

For a few brief decades in the middle of the 20th Century, Americans (read: USA wage slaves) had some illusions of forging an independent destiny. But that was only because Europe was twice destroyed in World Wars. Fact is, the US made itself a debt slave by protecting Western Europe against Russia after the World Wars. Why would America have done that if it truly had the will and capacity to forge a different destiny? It wouldn't have . . . and that's all the proof you need. There is no USA culture. There is only Western Civilization. Anglo America never was anything but a remote ranch of that culture.

The growing welfare state is most certainly going to knock America down a notch. It brought down Rome and Great Britain before us.

Technically speaking, you can attribute the downfall of Rome to a few factors; bat**** crazy emperors, expansion to the point where they could not possibly control the entire size of their realm.. at one point they ruled about half of the known world, the upswing of Christianity which in essence split the empire in half.

But the one thing you can't really attribute the downfall of Rome to is being a welfare state.

Actually, if Rome WAS a welfare state, they would have probably lasted for another 100-200 years. The reason Rome was so ripe for the picking in the first place was beucase instead of helping out the people when there were food shortages they spent their money on war and games at the Colosseum, thus when they got attacked by the Visigoths they knew all they had to do was starve them out (the Romans) and that's exactly what they did. By the time they actually sacked Rome, Rome was dead from the inside out beucase they were staved.

I'm not preaching the need for a welfare state, I don't believe in the current welfare system we have whatsoever, we need some welfare but not to the extent we have it now. Just stating that using Rome as an example is highly inaccurate.
