You see, it's not just you, most men are also struggling with women. We tend to get depressed when we think most other men are getting women or girlfriends and you are not. I guess misery really does love company.

I blame social media and dating apps.

Most young men are single. Most young women are not. | The Hill
Talking about this statistic is getting annoying. This is happening in the 18-29 market. A lot of us on this forum are 30+.

The top guys are controlling a greater share of the market. It's not older men hoarding 18-29s. Most people have romantic interactions with people close to their age.

Even with 30-49 year olds, there's an 8% surplus of single men.

There´s some of that but also a lot of women are sharing guys. Conciously or in some cases unaware but they are sharing guys. For example, a girl that is having sex with a married man will not consider herself "single" if she has feeling for him.

Most attractive men get locked down. sooner rather than later. The relentless pressure women apply to lock a guy down eventually works. I think some women fantasize and hold out hope that they can share a locked down guy. So that might pull those women off the market for a while.

haha, I wish.

I am 46 and generally not attracted to women 40+. I want a woman 30-39 since anything under 30 is not very realistic.

I find it interesting how they throw the" women want men 6 feet plus" This makes 80% of men undatable

I am 6 feet tall and fit and don't have women throwing themselves at me and how come I see men 5'6" to 5'9" with hot women all of the time?

I was thinking about this the other day, if height was as important as women say, wouldn't short men have been extinct years ago?

Short men exist because women are still breeding with short men, who produce other short men....lol

You are no longer with your gf (ie that you were worried might discover you were on this forum)?

This is an excellent article. Thank you for sharing.

Your most realistic women are 40+. The typical man can only date down 1-4 years. Asking for women 7-16 years younger isn't very realistic unless you are an exceptional man.

The above sentences don't even take into consideration your shiit geographical location too.

I've noticed that the you, the OP, @sangheilios, and @Mike32ct have similar issues with dating within the age bracket. That sounds very demotivating and depressing as you only get mainly women with loads of baggage, body-counts, that are divorced (probably multiple times in some cases) that are also very experienced/seasoned, while you are coming at them too green in comparison (ie very limited relationships or engagements in comparison to her), You are like at the lower-level of the trinagle of the hierarchy of women as a best case scenario. Why even bother at that point?

Not true, I know four guys around my age who are married to women 9 and then 12-14 years younger. They are attractive guys with decent jobs, but they are not exceptional.

These are examples of guys I know, what about all the ones I don't know.

You are right on one thing, however, my geographical location is bad.

Dude, you have to be the most negative person on here.

And to answer your previous question, no it is not my face. Sure, I am not strikingly handsome, but I am at least a 7. Think Steve Carell or newscaster Matt Lauer. I look better than many men who are 35+ who have let themselves go.

Why should I settle for an average at best female when I see PLENTY of men who are short, bald/balding and/or overweight dating women better looking than them?

I would rather be alone than settle just to be with somebody.

You know more exceptions and outlier-type guys than more typical men. You're trying to be outlier and fighting the tide. It's not working well for you.

.

The guys you don't know are represented in the data points in that article for instance. Almost all studies of age differences in USA couples put the typical age difference around 2-3 years.

These are couples who met in their 20's. How about all of the men who get married a second time to women 15+ years younger.

And look, if I was looking for a woman 21 to 29, that would not be realistic. Ever heard of 1/2 your age, plus 7? It is actually quite realistic.

Oh and I forgot another one. A high school and football coach I know married to a woman 20 years younger (2nd marriage)

Statistically insignificant and a non-representative sample. The typical 40 something guy is a pussie beggar who settles for some woman between 1-4 years younger than he is.

A high school and football coach I know married to a woman 20 years younger (2nd marriage)
The people you know are not a representative sample. The people I know are not a representative sample. Researchers make a lot of efforts to find representative samples. Representative samples typically show age gaps of less than 7 years.

Ever heard of 1/2 your age, plus 7? It is actually quite realistic.
I have heard of it. Just because that rule exists, it doesn't mean that you can get someone 33 years old at age 46 based on what you offer.

Your most realistic option for a girlfriend in the next 3-6 months is someone who is 42-45 years old right now.

You are preaching the the choir here. I am not the one who says that getting laid is the only meaning in life or anything is better than being alone. In fact, while I included you in that reply, it was not directed at you either. It's directed at the poster who said your "realistic" options were high-baggage/high-body count/post-wall women. I replied "why bother?" if that's the case. It sounds like you are agreeing with that.

Any mature woman will absolutely relationship-experience-mog me.

I don’t really think about that very much anymore to be honest. It is what it is.
