Listen, man...

Even though I cannot stress it enough, I will continue to stress:

Hit the Gym!!

There is obviously a lot of confirmation bias on this forum, and you guys don't listen to sh!t I tell you.

Everything that I advise has been proven to work for me, and I only share with you my own true life experiences.

The bottom line is this...

Go to the gym and build muscle mass.

Lift heavy.

I am not here to brag, but I will share with you how much hard work, dedication, and consistency have paid dividends for me in terms of..

1. My physical appearance.

2. My confidence.

3. Compliments from others.

As far as physical appearance, I am 6'3 and now at 299 lbs. I have a stocky-muscular frame.

I get SO many compliments on my physique from other guys (no homo).

Guys: Strangers come up to me and ask me did I play football.

I've been told I need to try out for the Arizona Cardinals.

I was told by a police officer that if he had to deal with guys my size on a daily basis, he would quit his job.

I was told by a dude that I have an "Incredible Hulk" thing going on.

Those are just a few, and doesn't even scratch the surface on just how many compliments I get.

I get compliments almost on a daily basis; from strangers and new acquaintances.

I get so many compliments nowadays....at first, it was all surprising.

But now, it is expected.

I expect that when I go out, I am going to get complimented at least once.

My wife works as a cashier at a grocery store. One day, I went up to her job after I came from the gym (she was getting ready to get off).

I stood at the front end of her register, but a little distance away.

I kid you not, 75% of the people in the store stared at me in awe...men and women....customers and employees.

Speaking of which, the wife was taking her sweet ass time at the register...so I decided to walk around the store to pass time.

There was a black woman grocery shopping with her man.

As he was checking out the labels on a box, she was checking me out as I walked past them.

I get verbal compliments from men (no homo).

I get choosing signal compliments from women.

Women: As I mentioned, I get choosing signals from women, mainly in the form of stares.

I started a new job, and one of the women labeled me "the human forklift".

When I first started, most of the women liked what they saw.

Although most of them are older white ladies who are all either married or unattractive, however in their own special ways, they let me know on a day-by-day basis that I am the man.

There is a cute Latina lady there who is crushing on me.

Again, I haven't even scratched the surface, people.
-----

I said all of that to say this...

I am not here to brag. Not at all.

I am telling you guys the benefit of building muscle mass.

By becoming a better physical version of yourself, your chances of attracting women will increase.

I am confident I can get any woman that I want. Call me crazy, but that is the way I feel.

If you put in the work and trust the process, you will feel the same way too.

Not only should you do it to promote a healthy lifestyle for yourself and others, but in terms of dating/attraction...this is the best way to kill two birds with one stone.

Men have to make sure to get tall first. Once they get tall, then they can get ripped. To build muscle mass while short looks awkward and is a major turn off to women.

Nothing will matter unless the man is tall. Notice on dating sites women dont say “has to have a six-pack” but they always say “has to be at least 6’1.

The women who say that are usually above average height for women.

I understand your point about the height dynamic, though.

But ask yourself this, even short men; overall, will they have a better chance with muscles, or without muscles?

If the answer is with muscles, then all men can do is whatever it takes to boost our attractiveness, and work on what we can control.

You're going to get a lot of attention at 6'3" and nearly 300lbs, based simply on sheer size. You have got to be tall to carry that kind of mass though, as the poster above says. Short and bulky often isn't a good look,

I'm not what you'd call short (I'm 5'11") but I simply coudn't carry that sort of mass, I'd look terrible and it's not healthy as you get older either. Plus, for me personally, my face never looked great when I was bulky.

I'm happier being lighter nowadays. I'm no spring chick but I'm still a decent looking bloke - square jaw, good hair, physically fit, dress well, etc. and I still do OK if and when I can be bothered.

What's your height? I am asking because i am 6' and once i reached 230 lbs, it felt too heavy. I also play soccer, table tennis, and the weight was dragging me down. I am now at 220lbs, maybe a bit less, and it feels good, it feels right. I am still big enough, but also athletic. But i can agree once you reach a certain shape and bodyweight, people will notice and compliment you. I started from 152 lbs 4 and half years ago and i saw the change in people's perception regarding me, as i was gaining weight and building muscle mass.

The question is, would I get that much attention if my natural size wasn't accompanied with consistent weight training.

I think the answer is no.

I was walking down the street today and a young Latina woman who I never saw in my life was on the opposite side of the street and walking the opposite direction (apparently coming from school), smiled and waved at me as we passed.

She wouldn't have done this if I was just a big dude walking or an average Joe dilly dallying down the street.

It was because I was wearing a work shirt, one of which really shows my muscle definition and I get compliments just about every other day because of it.

That's what happens when you build muscles; you look better in the mirror, and you look better in your clothes.

And if you really hit it, others will take notice.

The infamous Bolo Yueng.

He stands at 5'6.

And I would classify him as short & bulky.

No steroids. Just hard, dedicated work at the gym.

If you guys don't think that supporting a muscular frame won't make you more attractive than your current, unfit, non muscular frame...then we simply disagree.

Feel free to take my advice with a grain of salt.

Meanwhile, all of the women you oogle over will not be looking at you, but at me.

I am 6'3.

Are you lifting?

I doubt you would think you felt heavy if most of your weight was from muscle mass, which weighs more than fat.

Plus, if you are cardio-active then you will probably (with lifting weights) develop a more leaner muscular frame instead of bulk.

Either way you go with it, it is still a better physical improvement than not doing any lifting at all.

The idea is to improve your physical self and I guarantee any woman will prefer the muscular, above average frame version of you than the docile, ain't hit the gym in years version of yourself.

We are talking about sexual appeal here from the eyes of the woman.

I am now at 220lbs, maybe a bit less, and it feels good, it feels right. I am still big enough, but also athletic. I'm not unfit or 'non muscular'. I use weights, I run, I do calisthenics. I'm in good shape. I just prefer to be lean and healthy nowadays. I used to big and bulky back in the day and, you're right, you do get attention, at least from certain women on the strength of that alone.

Do you feel confident being in that kinda body shape and do you notice women checking you out?
Yeah, I feel confident and I'm a decent looking bloke so I do OK. I'also very into clothes and look good in suits, sports jackets, etc. Much more so than when I was bigger - although you do attract more attention from certain types of women when you're more muscular, I agree.

Nowadays, by bulild is basically that of a middleweight boxer. In my opinion, being big and bulky is a young man's game; lean/rugged is the way to go as you get older. Most blokes my age are dad bod or worse so I'm happy with how I am.

You carry some fat but is most of your weight from muscle?

That is key.

And the compliments I get may not be as straightforward as a bodybuilder may get.

We are all at different degrees on the spectrum.

If you are already hitting it and doing your thing, and you like where you are, fine.

Keep it up.

This is mainly for guys that are inactive and can use a boost in their physical SMV.

Im telling y'all, it works.

I live it.

I am soon to be 42 years old. Am I too old to get built?
Hell no.

Lets say I decide to not get jacked but I do pushups, dumbbell curls for biceps and do some planks/situps. If I go for a more cut look. Will doing that be enough to get attention and boost my confidence a little?
Hell yeah.

I'm 5'9", 145 lbs. Fairly lean and skinny. Not a big guy. I'm aiming for more of a ripped look.

I don't have a lot of muscle mass, but I still have good definition in my upper body (shoulders to waist). Arms are defined (mostly from triceps, some biceps). I also do lower body and back exercises. So even though I'm not big or strong, I have a balanced body. If you're lean but don't weigh a lot, you can still do squats/deadlifts, bench press/push ups, and barbell/dummbell rows, rdl's, shoulder presses/wide-grip push ups.

I do squats 2x/week (barbell or bodyweight), upper body 2x/week (bench press/push ups, shoulder presses), back 2x/week (deadlifts/rows, rdl's). Even with limited equipment, you can still get a good body.

Muscle mass is great. My body adapted better to higher rep sets, whether I use barbells, weights, or bodyweight. Either way, work out. There's no excuses for not working out. Even being broke isn't an excuse.

You don't even need the gym, bike racks present the perfect platform to do everything from deep body weight squats to angled push ups, can carry your weight on it with your arms, it's pretty much perfect, basically any time I come across a bike rack I'll do some push ups minimum. I do time under tension push ups though I don't do reps so I go about half way up and then back down.

He was pulling security at the front of the grocery store where I was meeting the wife in the brief story I shared.

When he made that statement, we had a convo about exercise.

He was saying that having so much mass is not ideal for his line of work, because in case you are dealing with a difficult person, it is important to be as agile as possible....and while wearing a heavy/uncomfortable vest, additional body mass would do more harm than good.

He was more on the lean side...looking like a young Steve Kerr.

I like the women part but not the men part though. The scariest part of gymmaxxing is getting attention from other guys rather than women. They tend to hype this up.

Great movie. Brilliant.

Although they could have did it better.

That's worth the price of admission. Latinas can be hot.
I do receiving at a grocery store, and she is the manager of the bakery department.

Sweet, cute woman.

Our conversations are normally brief but you can tell there is a connection...a vibe.

I plan on turning up the temperature with her next week.

We will see how it goes.

You weight more than I do though. What's your bf?
I have no clue. Although I am working on burning the fat and replacing with muscle.
