Don't know how you can be a present father, and not screw up your kids, by leaving a trail of unwed mothers. If you don't want kids, don't have them....and don't marry. ;)
No lol I just mean that I wouldn’t sign any legal documents. I’d call her my wife and get her a ring but I’m not signing the marriage certificate or filing our taxes joint or anything like that, **** that lol

Sure, but if you're relying on a so-called scholar for knowledge about a subject you could easily study yourself, why defend the "scholar," when you really have no more than his word for whether he's right or wrong?
Someone with several or a dozens of years of experience in an area will understand it better than you and i and google searches. Experts and scholars still have a place.

I guess, what it might come down to, is that's it's nearly impossible to be a useful "expert" on a subject for which you have nothing but contempt. We're so used to taking the word of experts, for everything, that the average person would be surprised to discover how often experts are dead wrong, if the average person would bother to study the source material, himself.
In my area of expertise back in the early 2000's there was plenty of "dead wrong" material in all the trade mags. But that's who people wanted to listen to.

An area we can all agree on is the mainstream dating advice doesn't work. The concepts discussed here and AMS and Locario are Whats really going on.

I think people trying to disprove the stories in the Bible are completely missing the point. True or false, it is the point of the story and the lessons within which are the message. The Bible is merely just the medium it is presented on. It's like reading Dosteyevsky, Ayn Rand, George Orwell or any other well known author.

Why do I not care about the validity of the text? Because its frankly a complete waste of time to disprove a text that is several thousand years old and has changed hands and translations numerous times. Additionally, the Bible isn't something new. Most of the stories are replicas of previous stories which predate the Bible. But with that said, the value in the lessons of the ten commandments or thee hundreds of other lessons are invaluable...

Watched hundreds of these types of rebuttals. Everyone of them has holes in it. Christ's words have ZERO holes in them.
Big difference.
because you belive so, don't matter what prove, reason, logic you toss, a religious person will find excuses to keep his faith, because he need to find that ilussion there is someone out there looking out for his wellbeing

this thread was opened with an idea about how universal is the behavior of women, it even crosses religious boundaries, and that is a true assertion. later in the thread, we are discussing the truth... of if religion, and so on. after study of quantum mechanics and other deeper physics, one can appreciate the complexity of everything and also how much we do not know. Urantia(probably crazy.. but the ideas are interesting all the same) has an interesting take on it all for anyone that is looking for something interesting to find out about that suggests ideas of how science and God merge. They DO merge unless we choose to believe God does not understand science...

I wonder why would God creator allow something like feminism. I clearly recall one of the mainstream groups starting to teach that God is or can be a woman. Ecclesiastes(included in all Abrahamic religions).. the whole book I guess is the answer, meaning crappy things happen to good and faithful.

nihilism...

This gets into the whole “why does God allow anything bad” argument and “if God is so merciful and loving, why do bad things happen?”

In essence, this life is a test. In this life, He gave us free will so that He (and us, mostly) can see we’ll do with this free will. And, like God says, we are clearly all idiots who don’t know any better. Hence the current state of the world lol.

I dont believe this because after Jesus came new light was shed on Gods lets say "nature" and it says.
God does not temp anyone nor can he. The temptation comes through your own mind.
Saint Pauls writings. Femenism ignores Gods creation and its purpose.
These Godly women in the bible. (The righteous ones) always carried a submissive quality. So to me status does not mean a woman cant be righteous and submissive.
God can definitely tempt anyone. He’s God lol. He can do whatever He wants. And no, it’s not all in the mind. We all have a devil following us around that tempts us, much like the ‘serpent’ in the Garden of Eden.
This is one of those things that sound good on paper but in reality are full of crap. It’s just an excuse to continue indulging in hedonism and doing whatever you want regardless of what God says just so that you won’t feel guilty. The entire quote is just deflecting and dismissing and putting off obeying God and quite frankly is a quote from Satan lol because he knows damn well that people will justify doing something bad by saying God not wanting them to do that bad thing is just Him being unjust to them and thus isn’t worthy of worship, therefore forget about God and don’t worship Him. Quite frankly, I find this to be the most arrogant thing I’ve ever heard. Imagine that, God says to you “Worship Me” and you just say, “No”. Tf?

We were sent here on Earth with the biggest priority being “believe in God”. That’s literally it. Some people fail to do even that. It’s not even doing anything. It’s literally just your brain and thinking it lol

Also just as a side note, I’m not railing against you lamath, I just say “you” as a way of addressing the reader and atheists in this rant lol

I’m not Christian, but I thought to remind those of you who are:

Proverbs 21:9 - Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife.

Proverbs 21:19 - Better to live in a desert than with a quarrelsome and nagging wife.

If things happen to take a turn for the worse, follow the way of the prophets and messengers. Many of them had multiple wives and concubines at the same time. And as we all know, Jesus is reported to have said in the Bible, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” (Matthew 5:17).

And for all you secular folks who don’t believe in God, I’ll quote Greek poet Hesiod:

Do not let a woman who decorates her buttocks deceive you,
By wily coaxing, for she is after your granary;

This was ~700 BC. They had women with fat asses getting tramp stamps back then too.
wow

I hate to break it to you dude, but there’s more Christians who made a living off of actually being Christian (priests, pastors, etc. ) than there are those who attack it. Those who believed in it are far more well-versed in it than atheists who criticize it. You think 30 years of this new age atheism can compete with the 2000+ years of Christianity? Lol sorry bud, not buying it. There may be some flaws with Christianity, but most of them (if not all of them) are due to human error than issues with the true teachings of Jesus himself.
