I really don't get it. I guess the guy has to be a really good person to get to that point.

Some single mom that I had been dating, met some dude along the way that accepted her situation and she told me this "you're a great guy, I'm sure you'll find the woman. It's just I'm at a different stage in life". I agree, his reasoning is sound if he's coming from a place of fear. Otherwise, if single moms aren't his, or anyone's, cup of tea, no harm, no foul - but that doesn't mean that all single moms are cesspool dwellers, looking for a beta provider (his assertion)

Some of us do QUITE well and aren't looking for/needing a beta provider, we're screening for an eventual real partner, and that doesn't include a daddy substitute with deep pockets. From where I sit, I'll date, ill be monogamous, but I'll be hard pressed to infringe on my kids and household with a man. It doesn't seem like the healthy choice, for me or my kids.

If the single moms he interacts with think/behave differently, I contend that it is HE who is dwelling in the cesspool, and it is HE that needs to change his venue.

Change your venue, change the quality of people you surround yourself with. it's that easy.

It's my own conclusion, and it's based on multiple dating pools; from night clubs to church dates to school teachers to nurses to social workers to professionals like lawyers/doctors/accountants.

For a man to "date" a single mom he has a 90% chance to pick up a useless extremely selfish women, which is why I don't recommend dating one.

I don't think you'd want ur own son to date one too if there's a choice between a single childless women and a single mom, deep down I don't think any mother wants this for their son.
