I was actually referring to a chemical imbalance of the brain in his case. But sure, social deprivation sure played a part as it does in many other cases. The difference between you and me versus people like that is chemical, not social.

This, I cant disagree with. The difference in the states has to be firearms. We have a very similar social landscape here in the UK, but we don't have guns in every other house. In fact, I think I've only ever known one person here show me a gun in their own home.

- Religion is a wall for some people. Church today is nothing but a coping mechanism. "I'm just to blessed to be alive," or "I'm just so blessed to be here"....all the while they continue to live paycheck-to-paycheck, deal with stress in terms of finances, stress in terms of health, and stress in terms of other things. They use CHURCH/RELIGION as a "wall" to build around that to keep them from going crazy.

- Drugs and alcohol is a wall for some people.

- Sex is a wall for some people.

- Food is a wall for some people.

- Television and Entertainment is a wall for some people.

No matter what the MEDIA tells you, I would say that well over 50% of the people in this country are NOT THAT FAR off from snapping.

This life is cold, it's hard, and quite honestly out of the 7 BILLION people on Earth....only about 5% are actually ENJOYING this existence. The rest are either just scraping to get by, in poverty, ill, or in some sort of enslavement/captivity.

I think the destruction of the family is what really landed us where we are today, just google "statistics fatherless children" and check the pages. I think that like other policies, the legal and cultural shift that destroyed fatherhood was deliberate, and it succeeded. And these fvcked up kids grow up to create more fvcked up kids, it's a repeating cycle. Just when society was on the way to stable families because of improvements in medicine, less war, etc. that move came. But when did it happen? when did the floodgates really break? was it the 60s? 70s? 80s?

Relationships and the child rearing they exist for have gone from being like investing in your personal company to being a cheap amusement park ticket that you throw in the trash after you're done getting your thrill.
