WWE Star Chris Benoit and Family found dead in home!!

Last night @ WWE Vengence, Chris benoit had to make an emergency flight to his home in Atlanta,Ga because he got a phone call that his wife Nancy "Woman" Benoit and son Daniel were coughing up blood. the next day, today, the entire family (benoit,wife,and son) was found dead by atlanta police. Its too early to get details but my theory is that Chris went home, found his wife and kid dead and then committed suicide...thats what others are saying right now too....

what about you guys?? Very sad day in wrestling, All plans for tonights RAW are cancelled and the show will be a memorial to benoit and his family. They are saying Vince might come and pay tribute as well scrapping the whole mcmahon "Death" angle alltogether. It just wouldnt be right to continue that angle after this....last week the wrestlers had to pretend that they lost someone, even had a memorial planned for mcmahon tonight....now with this, they have to mourn and do a REAL memorial...

Obviously something was amiss for him to miss the show, but I'm not willing to speculate.

That whole McMahon death angle was in poor taste anyway (just like most of WWE) and it makes it even worse now, especially losing one of their best and most respectable athletes.

tonights raw in TX fans were sent home. It will show an empty arena with Vince Mcmhon standing in the middle of the ring saying his death was fake, but benoits is real. Wrestlers were also allowed to leave for mourning.

and if so, how many others did he come into contact with while away wrestling, that could be exposed to the same said virus?

I don't watch wrestling anymore, but I doubt it was a virus. I agree with the OP. Seeing his wife and son dead, he probably took his life.

thats true i did think about that too, but how the hell can they all coincidenly die at the same thing right when he flew home...weird. wrestling sites are confirming that they did NOT get shot contrary to what newspapers are saying.

WWE Alerts Police To Investigate Benoit Family Emergency

We're being told tonight that police were dispatched to the Benoit home after receiving a call from WWE officials who were concerned that they were not able to get in touch with Benoit.

We're also told that police found the bodies at around 4pm local time and that police would not say how the family died other than they were not shot to death. It could have been carbon monoxide but we do NOT want to speculate on anything.

Vince McMahon opened tonight's RAW broadcast standing in the ring in an empty arena. McMahon explained that tonight was scheduled as a show centered around the presumed death of the "Mr McMahon" character, but with the tragic news of this afternoon the show would now be a tribute to Chris Benoit and his family.

Absolutely horrible news that floored me when I heard about it earlier today.

Benoit was one of my favorite wrestlers ever for his work ethic and in ring skills as well he just seemed like a genuine good guy.

Someone's theory on another site I read said that if Benoit did kill his family and himself maybe it was due to the result of stress combined with his wife possibly saying she was going to leave him and take the kid with her.

Wouldn't surprise me any since her relationship with Benoit began when she was married to another wrestler.

Without a suicide note we may never know for sure the reason why but currently this is the only theory at this time that makes any sense to me if Benoit did indeed do it.

Sources in the Fayette County Police Department are now working under the theory that Chris Benoit killed Nancy on Saturday, son Daniel on Sunday, and then killed himself earlier today.

Benoit was found dead in his weight room. Nancy was found dead in the living room. Daniel was found dead in his bedroom, accordig t an unnamed source in the department.

Lt. Tommy Pope told ABC News "the instruments of death were located on the scene," but didn't specify what those were or where they were found. Pope said the department was not actively searching for any suspects outside the house.

This story doesn't make much sense. This guy was an accomplished and respected performer and to snap like that its just crazy. I stopped watching wrestling a long time ago but from what I recalled anybody who is associated with the Hart family tends to find a tragic ending.

More On Benoit: Text Messages Before Death, & More

According to lead investigator Lt. Tommy Pope, of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, in Fayetteville, Ga., the deaths of WWE Superstar Chris Benoit, wife Nancy and son Daniel were the result of a double murder-suicide, WWE.com has learned.

Benoit failed to appear both at Saturday’s live event in Beaumont, Tx., and WWE’s Vengeance: Night of Champions in Houston Sunday night, after informing WWE of a family emergency. Several curious text messages sent by Benoit early Sunday morning prompted concerned friends to alert Richard Hering, VP of Government Relations for WWE, Inc. Hering, in turn, spoke with Fayette County sheriffs Monday, and requested that they respond to the Benoit residence to check on him and his family.

Authorities representing the Sheriff’s Department initially had a difficult time entering Benoit’s new Fayetteville home Monday afternoon, which had been guarded by two large German Shepherds roaming freely around the property. Once authorities entered the residence, they quickly located the bodies of Benoit, Nancy and Daniel. WWE was notified of the discovery at approximately 4 p.m.

At 10 p.m. Monday night, Lt. Pope held a press conference in conjunction with Scott Ballard, the district attorney for Fayette County. The press conference officially ruled authorities’ findings as a double murder-suicide from within the home.

WAGA, a FOX-owned and operated television station in Atlanta, reported that investigators believe Benoit killed his wife and 7-year-old son over the weekend, then himself on Monday.

The three bodies have been received by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s crime lab, in Decatur, Ga., where autopsies will be performed Tuesday morning. Toxicology reports will not become available for at least two weeks.

WWE.com has further information relating to both the investigation and the cause of death, but the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department has requested that WWE.com not release any additional details at this time.

Wow, thats effed up man. I never liked Benoit because his charachter was boring, but I respected the hell out of his talent. Those rolling German suplexes were amazing. It's really surprising when you learn of the demons some people have inside of them.

See it doesn't make sense.

If you hear your family is coughing up blood, you don't rush on a plane to check on them, you call 911. The fact that there was no call for an ambulance to come to their house speaks volume. Also how would a killer enter a well secured alarm premise with two guard dogs in sight? It doesn't look good for Benoit.

Wrestlers are overworked, underpayed and on so many steroids/pain killers/illegal drugs it is no surprise they snap. Usually most wrestlers end up shooting a lethal dose and kill themsleves but this is the first I think I hear of a famous and respected performer going crazy and kills his family.

underpaid my a$$...triple h and the big show make 1 million a year!!! i think your talking indie wrestling. i doubt anyone wrestling for the wwe is starving.

It looks like my worst suspicions were true. Some of these guys are so fvcked up, but its hidden behind all the WWE glam. God knows how many of them have been arrested on assault charges. Steve Austin is a wife beater and he was one of their biggest stars.

I hope Benoit is proven innocent, but have a bad feeling on this. If he murdered his wife and 7 year old son in cold blood, that makes him the scum of the earth and I hope fans turn their back on his memory.

It sounds like most wrestlers who trained with the Hart family (i.e. Pillman, Benoit, Bulldog, Dynamite Kid) turned out pretty messed up in one way or another.
