Re:
They get fat because of a lack of control, a gluttonistic lifestyle of excess, and the protection of "if you love me," "it's the inner person," and "i had kids." Amongst other cool, hip, protective sayings.
Honestly, food is marketed as an EXPERIENCE, otherwise restaurants would be doomed, really. Aside from the fact that most meals/dinners themselves exceed almost 50% of the daily required calories in 1 sitting for a sedentary individual, nobody exercises for enjoyment.
It's a sick game that fitness clubs profit off of. Chili's, Applebee's, 99, McD's, etc market like crazy to pitch new meals, menus, drinks, deserts, etc. And then, to keep off the excess weight, you have to run to a gym, workout a little a bit at Curves and hopefully stay at ground-zero post kids.
Ted Nugent commented on our "EXCESSIVE GLUTTONISTIC" lifestyle and how it's killing America and healthcare. And it is. I think we know we must be at least active people, or any amount of food can pack on weight over and above what our maintenance is.
The rest is just excuses. While I'd try to be compassionate to someone's plight, it's foolish to segregate 1 person and allow them to be so condemned by depression; that pisses me off. Don't play victim when there's worse victims out there who are not complaining. We've all lost relatives...I lost most of them to cancer, diabetes, kidney/liver failure, and it's very painful to have cancer, let alone SEVERAL diseases.
I never saw them cry, ONCE! They were bed-ridden, some missing pieces of their tongue, couldn't sleep, and couldn't get up to piss on their own. And yet, here we are, shoveling food down our throats like pigs @ a trough...and we complain about the simple joys!
And the worst part is, the relatives who got cancer, inflicted it on themselves through smoking. Every SINGLE one of them. So yes, smoking kills directly or indirectly. Either through decreased lung capacity, which slows circulation and forces you to oxygen tanks and oxygen machines, OR to cancer of the lungs, which rapidly spreads throughout the body. I care not if you do it, only that you know you're nailing your own coffin, just as those that eat are inflicting obesity, higher health costs, higher food bills, less likelihood of procreation, and greater heart risk.
Most ladies I know that were obese, had a stomach stapling. They eat, minimally, but they do it. These were women who'd do weight watchers, etc and fail. And part of it was habits, part of it was not wanting to workout, and part was they weren't bad enough until kids. Then kids packed on pounds, 1 right after another, and they never got ahead.
---------------------------
You can't judge a woman's future of obesity or not until AFTER college.
During high school, she lives at home, probably does less competitive hs sports, and she doesn't part as much. Food is generally controlled by what's in the fridge.
Then, during college, she gains nutritional liberty...whereby she determines her own diet, the cafeteria and late night pizza runs, OR a healthy diet with the occasional tasteful cheat meal. There she's prob. not doing sports, if she is, then you're fine, b/c she won't blow up just yet. Her partying ways will likely add at least 10lbs in her freshman year unless she's naturally thin and has a thyroid problem. Even super skinny girls gain weight. Those thicker ones' get heavy.
AFTER college, she's @ home with the parents OR on her own, so now she exercises freedom and choices completely around what she does and what she eats. She's partying, less, hopefully, so she should lose some weight.
An X of mine that was curvy prior to college, chubby when she finished (thank God we split my senior year), and now basically fat works out, but has a problem balancing that out. Now, she's prob 160-180 last time I saw a pic. If you want D's, she's your woman, but now she got rolls, too. During college, she cheered, so her tummy was flat, but not cut. It grew...

Last piece of reasoning aside from the obvious balance of calories to output...
Women's education on working out. Most are hamsters on treadmills burning off whatever muscle they got that makes them look good! I barely see women do weights, and when they do, it's 5lb dumbbells. They won't venture near men (most of them). They do machines and they do them weakly. They still have the mistaken belief that weight of any kind packs on muscle therefore size therefore she weighs more which is what most girls care about.
Any girl, and I mean ANY girl @ my gym that lifts to get stronger week after week is DIESEL. I mean curvy, beautiful, nice arse, everything. It doesn't take that dedication to that extreme, BUT, it does take lifting MORE weight and less cardio for women to TRULY get the weight off. Do machines, but do them properly. It's a false belief that so long as women do weights, they drop fat gain muscle. No...they must do what men do, perhaps it is tougher, but they must use their muscles like we do. Just because we're men doesn't mean our muscles are diferent. They're not.
But most girls believe that lifting heavy = higher weight, bigger size. etc. Or they're afraid to, because of men being there or hurting themselves.
Some WOMAN needs to stand up on a gigantic soapbox and shout about WHY a woman needs more weight training and less running like a damn greyhound and then they'll get to their goals VERY EASILY.
