Why aren't girls funny?

Most of the really funny people i've met in my life are guys. Most of the really funny comedians are guys (jon steward, dave chappelle, will feral, jackblack, ect.). However, there is very few funny girls. Sure, they'll crack a few jokes here and there, but i've met very few that are funny.

Why is that? Is it sexism? Is is feminism?

It seems girls are too shy or too afraid or something to be hillarious. They seem to be too concerned with acting perfect and respectible. But even out of those who are not afraid to make an ass out themselves, most of the super hillarious people I've met are guys.

Who are some really funny girls in the media? I can name sarah silvermen, samantha bee (who is not a funny as rob cordery,ed helm, steve colbert), and the rest of the snl girls.

I must agree with this as well; the typical woman's humor is about on par with that of small children.

Alot of being witty or funny comes from a male mentality. I think guys in general are more fun than women. Girls are afraid of being goofy of laughing at themselves (which is critical to being funny and one of the first things they teach in theatrical comedy) Watch Jackass. Those guys aren't at all afraid to laugh at themselves.... but could you really see girls getting together, putting away their egos, forgetting what anyone thought, and just simply having fun?

I generally find girls boring and they will say this "Yeah, I'm really boring though."

Sometimes, they will be funny but most of the time they are just boring or completely unfunny.

Social Conditioning and being a social robot is to blame. Most women have always had whatever they want given to them. Most funny people have had to work for something or done something that is admirable. Look at Robin Williams, he had a fvcked up life and had to get away from being an alcoholic. He is the funniest man ALIVE.

Yeah you're right. I noticed that there are girls that are funny, but usually they only hang out with guys and have no girl friends or they are low in status in their peer group.

What a shame.

attractive women are not funny because they don't need to be.

on the other hand, you will find that there are a lot of UNATTRACTIVE women with a pretty good sense of humor. this is along the same lines as the funny fat guy.

look at comedians too - most of them are not the "alphas" of society... and most of their comedy derives from their experience as being outcast and ostracized.

there's some psych stuff that says that a sense of humor is a COMPENSATORY measure people adopt when they see that they are not otherwise getting the love, attention, etc. that they want.

attractive girls were never in want of such things so they never developed it.

a girl's sense of humor consists of her laughing at all the jokes that the guy makes.......and the better she laughs, then the better her "sense" of humor is

the guy basically HAS to carry the humor, otherwise the girl, the hypocrite that is the girl, SHE will say that HE is boring

GUYS a girl's sense of humor is dependant on how cute she looks when she laughs at all the guy's jokes, and how much she laughs, and how cute her laugh is

I don't think women see being "funny" with being "sexy." I mean for themselves - sure they like guys who are funny, but women are trying to be "sexy" to guys and this means being demure for them.

It's too bad, 'cause I like funny women, as long as they're attractive too. LOL. Think about some of the funniest women in the past, I mean Lucille Ball? Funny, but to me not attractive at all. Ellen Degeneres? Funny but not attractive. The Friends girls I always thought were a bunch of dumb *****es and I never like that show anyway 'cause the guys in there were a bunch of whiny chumps. Elaine from Seinfeld? Pretty funny but not my type.

The only funny woman or comedian I've ever thought was hot was Tracy Ullman. There was just something about her that got to me. I thought she was sexy.

I find that if I've been going out with a girl for a while--like over a month or so--she actually starts to develop a sense of humour around me and cracks some jokes. One of the standards I have with girls is that they have to be a bit of a challenge. Usually girls that aren't so caught up by you, can throw some humour back at ya. It's pretty cool when they do and a major turn on.

Aside from this, all girls are not funny at all. To reiterate, this is from the chronic psychological Fear that females have, and Self-consiousness. i'll ask my girlfriend this week about why chicks aren't funny, and post it.

You guys must attract some really boring women. Granted, women in general are definitely not as funny as guys and the vast majority of great comediens are men, but I've known a handful of girls who can (sometimes) be funny enough to make me laugh.
