I love how people are saying those were bad calls. You can't push off of a defensive back, a lineman can't hold a linebacker, and Ben's TD was legit. The only thing you could say was BS was Hassleback's penalty when trying to make a tackle.

The Steelers won fair and square. Don't listen to those ESPN guys who debate anything. If you think otherwise it really doesn't matter because the Super Bowl XL Lombardi trophy is in Pittsburgh to stay.

A lineman sure can't hold a linebacker with one hand.

I wanted the steelers to win, but honestly, the first half of the game was the seahawks shining moments. The steelers sucked in the first half. And Ben's touchdown wasn't legit at all, it is just because the camera view in the replays couldn't make the play clear enough that the standing call had to be sustained. And another thing, the commentators on the game know a heck of a lot more than you do generally about specific rules and all, so to advize people not to listen to them is stupid.

But those who say that the pats will be back next year, I can say, dream on. They had a rocky season this year, and it doesnt seem to be in the forecast any real better season next year. in fact, the better forecasts are for rising teams. I think that if the broncos get a better Qb they might have a better chance. The colts have a great chance t omake it next year, but I hate mannning. The bears also may have a chance.

Personally, Iam a big Buccaneers fan. And I think that if they can get a good reciever to help Galloway, then the Bucs are very much a team to be reckoned with. if we can get a better offense, we would be great. The bucs all ready have the best defense in the league.

The Bucs should pick up Jeremy Bloom. He'd fit in perfectly there. I'd like to see him in Seattle but I can't think of a worse place for a receiver like that to go.

I forgot to add in, I think that the seahawks also have a good chance for another try at the superbowl, but they are goign to need to expect a few things out of some players. First of all, they need to make sure that everyone knows what pass paterns are being thrown. that one stteler pick off of hassalback was due to his recievers not being in the right spot, cuz there wasn't one seahawk near where hassalback threw. That was all the seahawks fault. Also, Alexander is a great runingback, but he is going to have to show us something that we didn't see at the superbowl. he is going to have to show that he can be targeted by oppoing teams defense and still gain yardage. he didn't play as great as his reputation, what with gaining at the most during the superbowl, what, 20 yards?

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.

yeah the Seahawks were so great in the 1st quarter they scored a whopping 3 points:rolleyes:

The NFL said all of the calls were the right calls

Jeff Fisher head coach of the Titans said they were the right calls

read the rule book

to go against the NFL makes you stupid

the game was so bad ESPN needed something to talk about

Hold up, makes ME stupid?

Yes, read the handbook SB82, and when calls are not clear in the instant replay, the call on the filed must stand.

The game didn't have the teams Iwanted, but it didn't suck.

Re:

OF COURSE the NFL would say the calls were right, THEN issue a behind-the-scenes apology to Holmgren. You honestly think a BILLION dollar organization would state publicly we fawked up?

HELL NO. Millions of advertising dollars were spent on an apparent sham, Holmgren was duped, and the NFL HAS to course correct for the future. People around the world are still sickened over how FAKE the game appeared.

The Seahawks HARDLY sucked, be it 1st half or 4th qtr. They moved the ball UNLIKE PITT through MOST of the game. What do you expect when the 2 best teams meet, a GUN SLING match where the scores total 80?

Most Pats games I've watched with a considerably good team don't go sky high until the next half, when they figure out and fix their game plan.

The last game to my memory that WAS NOT a game was TB vs OAK, when TB dominated throughout. SEA played well throughout, but MOST of the bogus calls came by the 2nd half. And those, my friends, are motivation and drive kilers. Having 3rd and 5 vs 3rd and 15 or 20 is BIG, esp with SA behind the line driving 5.5 yards per carry.

ASIDE from the trick plays, PITT was in-effective. Even Bettis was quoted as saying "Roth looked like his favorite dog died." His performance was shotty, and the only TD pass was from X QB/WR Randle El.

-Just because the NFL is the ruling body DOES NOT MAKE them the SUPREME intellect of the galaxy, all knowing, omnipotent, and omnipresent. It just means they didn't want to tarnish the greatest final championship on the planet, most watched, undermine the refs, and create and outcry of a lack of faith.

-Actually it wasn't only ESPN. I listen to most talk radio throughout the day, and most talk show hosts DISLIKED the calls. NOT just ESPN, but other stations as well. It was a close game, despite the calls.

blah blah blah

Super Bowl XL:
1. The Refs didn't give up the longest run in SB history...Seattle's defense did.
2. The Refs didn't bite on a 43 yd trick play, Randle to Ward for a TD...Seattle's defense did.
3. The Refs didn't allow Ben to scramble around on a 3rd and 28 and complete a long pass to the 2 yd. line...Seattle's defense did.
4. The Refs didn't miss two field goals, that was Seattle.
5. The Refs didn't fail to step out of bounds late in the 1st half to stop the clock in Pitt territory in a crunch time situation...Seattle's offense did.
6. The Refs didn't let the 1st half clock tick down from 48 seconds all the way down to 13 seconds before finally running their next play at Pitt's 36 yd line...Seattle's offense did.
7. And on this play, 3rd down, 53 yds away from a FG, it wasn't the Refs who tried and failed to go deep for a TD rather than a safer 5-7 yd play and timeout setting up a much easier FG attempt....that, again, would be Seattle's offense.
8. The Refs didn't get confused by Pitt's zone defense and throw an INT...that would be Seattle's QB.
9. The Refs didn't let a little physical contact intimidate them from catching 4 very catchable passes...that would be the Seattle TE Jerramy Stevens.
10. With approx. 20 seconds left in the game, knowing they need a TD and FG, in no particular order, and in easy FG range on 4th down, it wasn't the Refs who ignored the FG and elected to throw up a prayer trying for a TD...that AGAIN would be Seattle.
And for any 'hater' still feeling a little salty and reaching for excuses as to why the Steelers didn't deserve to win the Super Bowl ...
11. The Refs didn't constantly punt deep into the end zone, repeatedly giving Pitt the ball at the 20 yd line...that of course was Seattle.
12. It wasn't the Refs who received a Christmas gift wrapped easy INT lobbed in perfect position to return deep into Pitt territory...the lucky beneficiary of that break would be Seattle.
13. It wasn't the Refs who got a break when a Steeler DB dropped an easy int early in the game...that too would be a break for Seattle.
14. It wasn't the Refs who caught a break when a Steeler WR dropped a very catchable TD pass...that break again would go to Seattle.
15. It wasn't the scapegoat Refs that received a break when a WR caught the ball, turned, stepped, was hit hard enough to cause a fumble, and then ruled INCOMPLETE...that would be of course, another chance for Seattle.
(this was an interesting call considering that after Troy's famous overruled Int, the NFL stated that it WAS a catch. If so, than this definitely WAS a catch)
16. The Refs werent the ones who caught a break when at the conclusion of a 2nd qtr play, as a Pitt DE was walking away, the Seattle Center blindsided the defenseless player, leveling him to the ground. This mysteriously unseen crime was again another break for Seattle.
17. It wasn't the Refs who got a break when Pitt QB Big Ben was blocked in the back as he pursued the DB who he'd tossed an int to...that again would go to Seattle.
18. It wasn't the Refs who stopped Seattle RB Alexander in a few key situations. That would be the Pittsburgh Steelers.
19. It wasn't the Refs who converted many of their 3rd downs yet stopped their opponent on 3rd down often...that would be the Pittsburgh Steelers.
20. And the very bottom line is this...On plays when there weren't any penalties ...One team made plays and one team didn't.
The end result was the final score, 21-10.
*********************************************
To every Steeler hater out there I say, 'Get over it,' and learn to accept losing with a little grace, humility, and dignity. Perhaps you'll earn yourself some respect in doing so ....
What the Steelers accomplished this year as a #6 seed on the verge of elimination is nothing short of miraculous. Think about it, it's NEVER been done before in NFL history and may never be done again. This team was matched against the very best that the league had to offer .... on the road no less ... and we beat them all! Sorry, but there is nothing empty, tarnished, or undeserving about that .....
With that said, Congratulations to the
World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers
Welcome Home Lombardi Trophy!
