Alright... lets hear it.

What supps. you guys use in your regimen?
Also feel free to comment on them... effects, opinion, amounts, manner in which you use them, etc.

Try to list companies too for the things you want to highlight/reccomend.

lots.

if you're asking which YOU should be taking (as a weight trainer), then definitely a good multivitamin (not a one a day job), multimineral if your multivitamin does not provide them, extra vitamin c, extra calcium, fish oil if your diet does not include this, and antioxidants (green tea is best because you get a load of other health benefits too).

those are the basics, afterwards you can look into vitamin b complex, vitamin e, liver tablets and r-ALA. (in that order)

once your micronutrient profile is sorted out you can think about other stuff like creatine, glutamine, BCAA powder - but only then.

(I'm not counting whey as a supplement, it's a food source)

Whey, creatine, taurine, zinc, magnesium, complex B, multivitamin, biotin (if i'm eating raw eggs), whey, flax oil, CLA, whey, fish oil, whey, ALA and ALCAR sometimes, metamucil :D

EDIT: That's what's in my cupboard, because i was taking a specific stack for a while, and I haven't gone through all that yet.

That's way overboard.

I bet you have more supplements than groceries.

Semag is not a beginner, he has the basics covered, and has most likely added the rest because of his own personal needs - e.g. metamucil is a fibre supplement; if his diet is lacking in fibre then it will benefit him.

similarly, if his diet contains calcium-rich foods then there's no need to supplement with it.

I don't consider his supplement regimen overboard by any means. I could nitpick and say that CLA is crap and he'd be better off with vitamin c but if it works for him then I'm happy. :)

I use the GNC Mega Men multivitamin. I normally wouldn't recommend GNC products, because they're usually overpriced. But, the multivit is really good and a good multivitamin is essential whether you're working out or not.

I also take the Met-Rx MRP. It has a good nutrient profile, and enough protein to work well as an MRP. I use the regular MRP when I'm bulking, and the Lite when I'm cutting for a fight.

Other than that, I don't really supplement with anything.

Yah - I recommend the card. I use it to get my multivitamin at the beginning of the month. It pays for itself.

ZMA is zinc and magnesium aspartate. Supposedly if you have a defficiency of zinc, your T levels aren't as high as they could be. The magnesium helps the muscles relax and heal...

Zinc will shoot your sex drive through the roof (personal experience) although i don't know hte dosages in a ZMA tab. I make my own ZMA with zinc, magnesium, and a complex B.

Here's why:
crazy dreams
Deep ass sleep
Sex Drive through the roof
muscle gains????

I dunno as to muscle benefits, but the other benefits make me happy :)

lol... right on!

Thx for the knowledge. Sounds pretty beneficial. (in more ways than 1)

? though...
I'm guessing cause you guys take zinc as an extra, either alone or through ZMA tabs... that a good MultiV doesn't meet its optimum levels?!

Responses appreciated :)

No, you need extra depending on how much meat you get in your diet. More meat, less zinc. Less meat, more zinc.
