Okay, once again I wasn't clear enough in my original post. I don't find my passions boring (then why would it be my passion?) but it's not exciting as some dude who can play the guitar really good, or an awesome basketball player, etc.

Then get off your ass, stop whining and posting on this board, and be a MAN and pick up a sport like I told you to already. If you have a sport as a hobby then you will be more athletic and more interesting to girls. Do it.

The passion itself is not the important thing.

My two great passions are achieving a PhD in my field and competing at high levels in sports. I've done one (sports) and am well on the way to the other.

Which one of those would you consider more 'interesting'?

Now guess which one no girl I've met gave two sh!ts about, and which one everyone constantly wants to hear about.

I don't play guitar, practice martial arts, or mountain climb...my passions and interests aren't very exciting. I've read that women like to see guys with a passion or drive, but what if your interests are boring or not socially acceptable?

Should a man then choose something more exciting and make it his passion?
It's as boring as you want to make it, or the opposite as interesting and enthralling as you make it. If you present it well, she will be dying to hear you talk more about it. How passionate are you about this field really? If you can use that energy and enthusiasm, and put it into words that's all you need.

What exactly ARE you passions? I'll bet money they're not as boring as you seem to think they are.

If your passion is playing Dungeons and Dragons, that's not gonna fly.

Sorry, unless you have bow-hunting skills, computer hacking skills, and numbchuck skills, you won't get a girlfriend.

You are being ambiguous, we need to know what your passions are before we can help you. What do you mean your passions are not "socially acceptable"? Do you watch porn all day or try to figure out how to rob banks?

If your passion is writing poetry in your room all day, well, chances are a good looking girl won't be wanting to tear clothes off when she is with you. Women like a sense of adventure, a sense of excitement, a sense of danger. Granted you shouldn't change your passion to please her, but you should look at yourself in the mirror if your passion is collecting nude scenes of Hollywood stars.
