Was America better off when women were expected to talk, dress and act like ladies?

I mean, today you see women doing all kinds of perverted things on the internet, exposing themselves, letting guys they don't even know touch them intimately and have sexual relations with them. They dress provocatively, swear, get drunk (in public no less!), feel on guys and even EACH OTHER. Most troubling of all however, is that they almost seem PROUD of not behaving in a traditional, ladylike manner. Granted, men are just as guilty of engaging in less than wholesome activities. But women have always been the ones who were supposed to be polite, soft-spoken, cheerful, and most of all wholesome. At one time, society would have shunned women who even once engaged in any of the things that these loose women do today, let alone made a habit of it. They would be the subject of whispering gossip, disdainful looks, and the object of scandal. How can we (society) make it so women are pressured to conform to the more traditional role they once had, of wholesome wife and mother and caretaker?

Society was better before. Then the media took over and is brainwashing people. People are more miserable and depressed then before, behave worse then before etc.

Feminists came along and saw it as being a crime for women to have a feminine role in society. Crazy or what!

These days women just buy buy buy fancy cloths and behave with no class. Proper manners are not being thought to women. Just the other day I saw an overweight woman sitting on a bench with one leg on either side so her hlegs were spread wide. Thank god she wasn't wearing a skirt. There are ladies out there but they're in the minority now.

Ha ha ha,good one Barcardi. Dude,I HAD to reply when I saw this post of yours. Unfortunately,I think you're mistaken. LonesomeLoser's been here for a while, longer than me even. I think you missed his join date.

It'll be easy to spot Crusader, most of the threads he makes all have the same name:"Hi","Hmm...",or "I don't know what to say." I've got an eye out for him.

To the OP,that's honestly a good question. I think back when women were expected to act, behave, and dress proper, they felt somewhat repressed.
I suppose that was what the women's movement was all about. It started out as being a good thing, being about equal pay for equal work, and other liberties they felt they were entitled to,but they took it WAAAY too far.
They went from seeking equal rights under the law,to saying that they were just plain flat out equal to men PERIOD. Equal in mind, strength, sexuality, etc.
It's like they're trying to BE us,but they can't. That's why there so many women messed up today, taking meds for their minds, going to psychiatrist, and other things. Basically their egos got the better of them. They figured,"Well,we were about to get laws passed in our favor, let's see what else we can do". Then it's like they set out to go against their own biology. "If men can have sex with multiple people ,then so can we." What they fail to realize,is that we produce thousands of thousands of sperm a day, whereas they only have a limited amount of eggs during their lifetime...and each month they go without getting pregnant, that's one less egg they'll ever have.

Are we better off today than back then? I'm going to say yes, however,I wasn't born back then,so I don't have a first-hand knowledge of how they behaved back then. But IT CAN'T be any worse than they are today.

The genie is out of the bottle. If you want a "traditional" woman you're best bet is heading overseas IMO. However, feminism is starting to pop up all over the place and even good old Eastern Europe is starting to change.

Society sucks, just as it did 50 years ago. Things never change, even if you think they do. The change is only superficial at best.

Good. Maybe this will clean out some of the beta male genes that let things get so bad.

You return them to as they once were by shunning them.

They need us more than we need them.

Pump and dump, boys.

Agreed. Many men here think proper social order is that of the "good old days", and often they've never lived through those times. To a lot of people here, I see that what they want is a society where their ideal masculine and feminine traits are forced on people in a socially acceptable manner.

very good analysis of current day women for the most part

with that said, why would anyone want to COMMIT to one of these girls and make them a girlfriend?

Treat them accordingly, and make sure you get what you want out of every one of these wonderful 21st century hors, and stop being p*ssies!!

I also find it quite ironic that it's always guys who suck at getting ***** who want sex to be more of a cultural taboo.

yes, because it seems like back then society wasn't as concerned about whether a woman was happy in her relationship, thus not as much of a need to be "fun" or "exciting", all of the things I'm not nor want to be. Just have a job basically, and you were good.

Its not about forcing women to be feminine and men to be masculine. It's about stopping men becoming more feminine and women becoming more masculine.

In other words have a society that feels more natural where people are thought how to behave properly in school.

Certainly the old days were far better then these days. The proof is in the mental health of people. It wasn't perfect but better then todays society.

No society was better when we had Keynesian economics. All this cultural bs is just a smokescreen to distract people from the reality of the world and make us think that 'durn it, if only women would wear longer dresses everything would be fine'.

Yes. America was WAY better off. I would give anything to go back to the 50's...

heck, even the 80's.

EDIT:
"if only women would wear longer dresses everything would be fine"

Longer dresses? Let's start with the basics. I'd be happy if girls wore dresses period. They don't even do that nowadays. They're all in their communist uniforms, pants and shirt or hooded sweatshirt.

So school now has the answers as to how we should behave? How the hell can school and those stupid teachers teach anything about behaving? What does 'behave properly' mean anyway?

Certainly the old days were far better then these days. The proof is in the mental health of people. It wasn't perfect but better then todays society.
And you know this how?

And what does Keynes have to do with anything? At least the countries with a more regulated economy aren't being hit as hard by the recession as the US is.

Oh, not this moral relativist BS again. What do you think?

Here are some starters:

-Not swearing in public
-Dressing with some class
-Not getting drunk
-Not talking about how many guys they've "been with", or sex period for that matter
-Taking pride in how they look, doing their hair, sitting properly, etc.
-Not trying to be a damned man
