Friends and I hit a dead bar to watch the NCAA Championship Game last Monday, and there were a group of hot waitresses gathered together, not doing much since business was dead.
One of them kept glancing my way, and after me and the guys ordered our drinks and watched some of the game, I approached her and broke the ice.
After a few minutes, I told her that me and the guys were going to the bar across the street, so I asked for her # and she took my phone and punched in all but the last few digits, promising to give me the rest if I came back. Whatever.
We all left to watch the second half of the game in the other bar and all of us had a blast. So at the end at of the game, we popped up at the first bar, grabbed the same table, and got another round of beers and F'd around.
The waitress saw me, smiled, so I walked over, threw in some filler dialogue and finally told her to fork over the last few digits. Her response, "Hmm, I'll think about it" and she vanishes to the kitchen to get an order.
I don't like being stalled or toyed with, and so we all left right there.
My buddy said I should have been more aggressive the first time and demanded the entire #, while my other friend said I should have been more patient and stayed.
Now, she wasn't OUR waitress, so tips and money had no part in this. She wasn't tricking.
Frankly, I think I played it pretty well, but I'm open to criticisms.
