I told the Hispanic girl im dating I love you and I cant take those words back. We were kissing like crazy after a few drink on our way out to the club to meet up with some of my freinds. And I start playing around speaking spanish, mind you I studied it for 2 semsters, which means I dont really know shlt. I wanted to tell her "I like you in Spanish", but it cmae out I love you. So, she said in English "oh you love me??? I answered without giving any though.....yesn. The a few minutes later I was like what the fvck did I just say??? Albiet I was drunk, but still I was like what did I go ahead and say that for. She, looked at me kinda crazy, but then later ont hat night she said it to me.
So, this mornign when I wake up we kiss a bit more but I dont say anything and neither does she. I was like phewwwwwwww, I do like her..love I dont know about that yet.

Spanish is my second language, and though I'm highly proficient I'm not quite fluent. Oddly enough, I'm more open and articulate when I speak to illegal aliens than when I converse with English-speakers.

My problem, of course, is that I can't understand the language for shyt. I just speak it like a professor.

I am puerto rican but my parents never spoke to me in spanish so I dont know ****. I understand it but not if they speak it fast. And they need to speak it PERFECTLY, not no slurred lazy spanish.

All cubans over here talk spanish fast as hell!

Your parents should be ashamed of themselves. A young latino that can't speak spanish is a shame. You're the same as J-Lo, who claims to be "latina" but she can't even speak her cultural language.

I will man. My dad says it is very essential ESPECIALLY in MIA because there are so many hispanics here and jobs are looking for bilingual people.

Thing is, man Im so behind in credits in HS that I can't take all the electives that I want to.

If anything.... if I go to the marines, or just college in general I will take spanish courses until I learn it.

how about just asking your parents to speak to you in Spanish from now on? Just tell them you really want to learn it. You'll learn infinitely more that way than you will in a classroom. The only thing you need a classroom for is to learn the grammar/spelling if you have to write something in spanish.

My parents speak English quite well, but when I was a kid they spoke to me almost exclusively in Spanish, because it was important to them that I speak the language.

You don't know how grateful I am to them for that.

LOL... I got drunk at this party I went to a few weeks ago and at the end of it I began introducing myself as the guy who was in love with the hostess' younger sister. Which is true, actually. I must have said it to eight different people, and the next morning as I was driving home I couldn't keep from laughing about it.
