You know I've done some silly things and I've never had a gun pointed at me. I have had cops put their hands ON their holstered weapons before but I'm OK with that, I understand their concern. What sort of situations are you guys in that you draw so much negative attention from law enforcement?

I'm pretty sure it's just you or it would happen to everyone, and it's not happening to anyone I know or have ever talked to in person. Not a single one. Now the guy who was flashed a badge and gun, that I can realistically see and now that he's cleared it up I understand, so help me to understand how this is happening to you.

Because it sort of sounds like a few drama queens looking for attention, without more information.

Cool I'll clear it up, even though it happened exactly how I described it. The first situation was with a constable, so while not technically a cop, law enforcement regardless. I was pulled over for doing 10 over the limit (65 in a 55). Instead of just being civil this guy pulls his gun, points it at me and tells me to put my hands out the window (even though they were well visible on the steering wheel). Why did he do this? Honestly no clue. Power trip, bad day, who knows but neither makes it right.

The second involved me being pulled over and accused of "street racing". One of the state cops was telling me how he saw my car fleeing the scene and I told him that wasn't true. He accused me of calling him a liar, to which I replied "I never said that, but if you're trying to tell me I was there then yes you are" (verbatim). That's about the time I got a gun pointed at my face. They also told me my car had been receiving complaints for similar activity in the past few weeks. The funny thing is that night was the first that my car had left the garage in a month because I detailed the hell out of it. The same a-hole then had the nerve to say "Oh, well you did a nice job" right before threatening to have my car towed. All they were doing was fishing for a reason to get me for something. The best part is that I knew for a fact that NO camaros were out there. A friend of mine actually went out to watch the races, called me to get me to come (which I didn't), then told me what was out there (three mustangs: two fox bodies and an SN95 and a Talon TSi, all of the cars were trailered in).

So what did I do about the situation? I went and talked to the town mayor. Instead of anything being done to the state cops, the town cop who was there was put on suspension for a month. Tragically he was the only guy there that actually did nothing wrong and was professional about the situation.

So a little about myself: I was a straight-A student, won several town scholarships and was on numerous occasions in the county paper for my achievements. The only laws I've EVER broke were speeding charges, I ever waited until I was 18 to start smoking. On top of it all I'm 5'5, clean cut, and dress well. So it isn't like they were going on a "this guys a bad guy because of his appearance" hunch.

Anyway, with all the further info I'm not going to change your mind about the situation, so this is just wasted time on my part. Cop-lovers are ever more "budge-proof" on their position than cop-haters. No matter what they do there's always someone out there that'll find a reason to justify the cops actions.

So yeah, you may have never met anyone who's been treated like this by a cop, but I've never met anyone a cop has ever helped, so fair trade I guess.

I guess this is bound to be a matter of public record then?

Dude, what? Seriously, you're able to form sentences I'm assuming, so give it a shot and tell me where you disagree with me. This sign language thing is just silly.
I've already communicated that.

You said I used sarcasm, which was not in the text you quoted. I meant what I wrote in the quoted text, so there are 3 possible issues here. Either you don't know what sarcasm is and you misspoke, in which case I've invited you to try again with a more accurate word, or you thought I meant the opposite of what I said, and I've now cleared it up, or you disagree with what I said but want to play games rather than debate.

Wow guys. This is ridiculous. I work for a police department and I'm a future cop. I know a lot of cops. What you guys don't understand is that there are cops who genuinely care and there are assh0le cops, just like EVERY profession. And you know what? I've met very only a small few who I would consider assh0les.

Most of them picked up the job because they actually want to HELP out their community and the people who live in it (like I do). Don't let a few bad apples ruin it for the rest of them who put themselves at risk every day for you.

That was what I observed in Monmouth. Also, some female police cadets are smokin' hot, and it's fun to watch the felony stop drills too. *******s are everywhere in small percentages, but there are a certain number of drama queens who can't miss a chance to wave their arms and try to get some attention mommy never gave them. These tend to be the cop hater cry babies. Sure, a few bad things happen but there are systems in place to deal with it and really nothing is perfect. But then I think Rodney King deserved the beating he got too.

The only people I know who've actually had repeated issues with police are (wait for it) actual criminals, people who habitually violate various laws. I would completely expect such induhviduals to have such issues. Of course a very FEW other people will have run ins, but it's rare. I had a pretty heated argument with a State policeman over a citation once, to the point where I was motivated to hire a lawyer and spend 5x the bail to win the case in court, but there was never any retribution that I noticed.

In fact all the stops I've had since I've been let off with a warning.

That's really the reality of the nature of police in the states. I've been in contact with a lot of police in negative and positive ways. Negative when I was engaging in and associated with criminal activities and criminals. I could be walking around the neighborhood that i use to live in and see a black and white and expect him to stop just to talk to me about stuff. I learned then that it's better to get to know law enforcement and their nature then it is just to be scared of them and pitch fits like some people do. I developed a good relationship with a lawyer (who walked me through 2 DUI's and was with me in 3 depositions) and he told me the steps to take if I was feeling "wronged" by cops but also some tricks to understanding where they're coming from and associate with them. From there I started befriending cops and participating in less dubious activities. Been pulled over tons of times but I get let go all the time because I know how to act around cops.

Good or bad days, cops can be talked down very easily if you know what to say and keep your head. If you look at it as an up hill battle you will fail.

Please share with us what you have learned. Learning how to deal with these cops is what we all need to know, especially when they are as trigger happy as they seem.

I'm beginning to understand we have a difference of opinion here but I'm not seeing how you expect to have a conversation in silly little emoticons.

Here are some fun links:

I think I just lol'd my shorts. Most of the really irrational and out of control student protesters were women, which just backs up my assertion they should have stayed home in the kitchen. The male student in the first clip is very calmly asking for officer ID and etc, but the girls are jut creating chaos.

That last clip is sort of funny too.

You don't know?
No actually.

I talked to the mayor about it and that was that. The last thing I cared about doing was diving in and investigated the whole ordeal like a murder case. Even though I know that "discredits" my story in your eyes.

Like I've said, I know I'm not going to change your mind. Don't really care to for that matter. We each obviously have different opinions and they'll each stay that way regardless of what the other says or does.

Believe me I understand that. I've met far more good cops than bad ones. But this is the real world, a few bad apples DO ruin it for the rest of them. It's the same with every "group" of people. The few bad ones cast the others in a bad light.

If I ever saw any action to remove or punish the bad cops I'd feel different but somehow they all keep their jobs because all the "good" cops take up for them. Not to mention the uniform instantly makes you "innocent" and "out to help" in the eyes of judges.

Never try to read a woman's mind. It is a scary place. Ignore her confusing signals and mixed messages. Assume she is interested in you and act accordingly.

That's fine, you might want to think about why your experience is so opposite mine. It sounds like you hang out with people who engage in highly dangerous and illegal activities, for one thing.

Okay. We've cleared that up.

Just one thing I've gotta ask, how do you figure that I hang out with criminals? I was pulled over for speeding in EACH case and in one instance was accused of being somewhere I wasn't (all based on how my car looks) . So from this information you can deduce that I and/or my friends (I was alone remember) are criminals?

Why do I get the feeling you're either: A) a cop B) father is a cop C) you want to be a cop?
