Dear Mr. Thompson,

My user name on your from is Maximus Rex and I've been a registered user of your forum since April of 2005, with varying frequency of visits to your site. However, as of September of this year, I decided to step my game up, become more proficient in the art of gaining a woman's interest and increasing her level of romantic attraction towards me. Therefore, I've been frequenting and contributing to the site more often.

However, there are two things that I feel that are a needless hindrance in regards to using the So Suave message forum, those two things are the Profanity Ban and the Posting Limit. In regards to Profanity Ban, I fully understand and appreciate, the intent, and motivation behind the ban in that you don't want the conversations devolve into profanity laden rants and flame wars between posters, plus there's also the issue of minors who may be on the site. The issue is that users circumvent the profanity filter by the use of asterisks, exclamation points, hash tags, commercial ats, dollar signs, and other punctuation symbols. Since these symbols are being used in place of the actual letters, and the author of the post is still able to get his point across. Also, one must take into consideration that is a male forum, who's membership mainly consists of men over the age of 21, and the topic of conversation is about ways to increase our luck with women and how to obtain sex. When you put the profanity ban into this perspective, it makes the ban quite asinine and it's rather strong argument to having the ban lifted.

As far as the Posting Limit is concerned, again the intent is understood and appreciated, but in the end the Posting Limit winds up being more of an impediment to So Suave as opposed to being an asset. In between users answering questions, offering advice, creating their own threads, ten posts can be used up rather quickly. I realize that you don't want people spamming the message boards, but have trust in your moderators. The moderators on So Suave are a great group of guys who don't "overly moderate," the board and they allow for the free flow thoughts, ideas, and conversation. They're a vigilant bunch who not only I, but the rest of the board membership have full confidence in their ability to regulate unruly behavior, but also to ban trolls, and eliminate spanning.

So Suave has a special place in my heart, in that this site was my initial exposure to the Seduction Community. When I talk about the things that changed my way of thinking as women, dating, and relationships, www.sosuave.net is always mentioned in the conversation. All that I ask is that you and the others who possibly run and own this site take my suggestions into serious consideration and don't let my post become an exercise in futility.

I'm also asking that members who are in support of the Profanity Ban and Posting Limit being lifted add their comments to so show that I'm not one voice in the throng of members that you have on this board. Thank you for your time and have a happy and prosperous New Year.

Posting limit needs to be more than 10 posts, thats just silly. The profanity ban needs to be an option you can turn on or off.

Yes, we're all adults here and can handle profanity. I do worry about profanity laden rants…that could kill the aura of this forum, and it would be harder to ban people if it were allowed. Perhaps there is some way around this .

I remember reading here somewhere that the profanity ban was money related, something about google traffic so I doubt they'll do anything about that. As for the post limit I agree that it should be increased but not eliminated. Perhaps a system where you gain more posts as your rep increases. That way people who the forum actually wants to hear from will be heard more than trolls and whiners.

I concur about the posting limit. Some days I want to post a lot while others not so much. Prolly get a lot more ad views too if the people could stay on the site and contribute more than 10 posts.

Just my 2 cents

I feel the posting limit should go up as your post count goes up. Have different levels of posting ability as you gain new titles "senior don juan" etc.

This way the newbies can't spam and as they estabish themselves and gain rep they can post more.

The ten post limit keep trolls from getting out of hand before the moderators are able to notice them and ban their profiles and delete their comments. It also keeps even serious SS members from spamming the site with too many non-sensical comments - even the best posters here will begin to write drivel after making about 20 or 30 posts in a day. It also discourages flame wars and arguments, by letting the guys involved go through their limit and forcing them to chill out for a bit until either (a) they move on to another thread or (b) the thread is noticed by a mod and shut down before it turns into a 20 page long thread full of "you're a c0ck sucking fagg0t" comments. The limit doesn't prevent the arguments from happening, but it does keep it to a minimum.

Generally, as mods we provide a lot of leeway in terms of argument. Because (most of us here) are men, we try to encourage as much free discussion as possible. I think we can all appreciate a good debate, and sometimes a great comeback or two can really liven this place up. But there are limits, and once you hit past a certain limit we'll have to take action.

The ten post limit forces you to use each of those comments as efficiently as possible. I didn't like it when I first joined either, but it tends to force you to really make each comment count. It also encourages you to have a life outside of SS; without this limit a lot of posters here would have 150,000 posts and never get laid. So when you think about it, we're actually doing some guys here a favor :)

Also, the post limit prevents harmful spambots from attacking and infecting the site with hundreds of thousands of spam comments that could potentially freeze or even permanently shut down the site.

As for the profanity limit, it's just an encouraging reminder to let posters know that there are certain basic rules here that need to be adhered to. It's also used to help motivate posters to write by focusing on persuasive and constructive dialogue rather than resorting to "you're a cvm eating slut" slamfests. On top of this, as mods we often quickly skim threads to make sure everything is ok and the symbols denoting swearing and cursing helps us more easily identify problematic threads or posters.
You sound like a lawyer.

Theres nothing more pathetic than seeing someone doing a post edit on their 10th post to win a losing argument.

I think DJs with 1000 posts should have a post limit upped to 20, although its hard to imagine what they would do with them all.

Yeah, people following crushes/ex-s on Facebook! I like your optimism bradd but there are far worse places people go to when they hit their SS limit.

Hey, respect the rules. Be cool. Theres no excuse for aliases.

lol who is this alias guy, I would love to take him out for a drink if we have this much in common.

I agree with Mauser and others and forgot to mention that the word filter never made sense. The most common words such as f*ck and sh*t dont need filters as I have rarely seem them used other than in motivational terms or common expressions. e.g. '**** test', 'got the number and ****ed her back at my place' etc

"you're a cvm eating slut"? Next time someone starts a race thread looking for a argument I'm using this one before it gets locked. Thanks Brad.

I would keep the posting limit to 10-15. It helps people put some thought into what they're writing as to not be using up their posts. I would rather see thoughtful posts then never ending threads like on yahoo.

Eliminate the blocking of the swear words. Maybe I'm slow, but sometimes I can't tell if a poster meant **** or **** or cumdumpster.

This makes a lot of sense, at first I was down for the lift on the profanity ban and the post limit but after reading this, I'm down to keep it the same, but whatever happens I won't complain.
